thanks for all the coments fellas, im really happy how its looking. But yea, im still not holding my breath on having it at a track day soon.

its still horribly out of tune, im also begining to think there an injector problem or something like that as well. but atm i really dont have the time, knowledge or money to find out soon.
there is a idol problem as well so thatll have to be the first thing to fix

also, look familiar?

http://secretdrift.ipbhost.com/uploads/post-174-1120612420.jpg

bleh... was bored this arvo at tafe so thought id find old pics of my motor (previously andy's). I wish it was still that clean haha

If you have an injector problem just swap them with jasons ect. or flow test them I have an Injector tester at home But from how it sounded on the video i dont think that would be ur problem is it possable the loom doesnt match the injectors?

Slydar was sayin that you need to match injectors with loom or some shit give him a PM about it, but hard to diagnose without looking at proplery + Im new to toyotas and N/A.

v-tec

Thought id post some pics of my corolla next to my 'daily driver' lol... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/huh.gif
Licence suspensions are great http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wtf.gif

And also update a bit, rego paid, and about $80 from paying off my fine in full. Soon as thats done ill get into the mod plate getting done. Get the muffler in and then get stuck into making it run all sweet.
i have been playing around with the timing a bit lately, but am lacking in tools to do it properly myself.
Also took off the throttle body, gasket glued all that up and the same for a little plate that is under it... i think a custom bit.

I also have to save for the next track day i will get to etc so more money.
Hopefully someone will soon buy this puppy and ill be back on easy street... for a while http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/7/5/4/536981.jpg

but when you find the person who did it... key them.. so they learn their lesson.

Ermmm, Wouldn't advise the revenge key-ing. because then they know who it is, and it just becomes a game of one-upmanship. trust me, i've been there. Just get the po-po onto them and they'll sort it out.

And just remember, what goes around comes around - they've fucked up you're car, so you know some bad shit's gotta happen to them. It's just karma.

She looks fucking schmick though, envying the whole 4AGE thing you have going

Javal.

v-tec
13th August 2006, 07:14 PM
yea, there wont be revenge keying going round... they might get some face key marks tho lol if i find them

i dummy fitted the mk1s on with the guard... looks ok, needs to get some stretched tire going + the springs need to set an appointment with the angle grinder

alas the thing has died the same night we had got it going, figured it would be something simple like a plug falling out... im stumped but. No idea.

The car stalled as its alot more bitey at 1000 idol than at 2000, and for some reason i now dont have a working fuel pump, and no spark.

tested the ecu, checked the fuel pump + & - connection and checked all the engine fuses... they all seem fine so im not sure.
This is typical of my luck tho... if i cant figure out whats going on with it now im gona get a whole new loom built from scratch so i know its all good and working.

Finally got the thing onto the road this week, mod plated and running.
The car made its debut today at the Ae cruise organise by drift 86.

Went ok, needs to be lower... alot. And im having some timing and exhaust issues. But thats basically why i took it out, to test it all out before the track day.
That all should be cleared up this week and ill have it out on track this saturday in which ive prebooked already.

Got these a few weeks ago, resprayed them, got the disks machine and repacked. Got new centre caps and locking pins. Just waiting now on Calipers... so basically new Ae86 struts for under $200

i havent been on the net in ages cause my computer craped its pants a few weeks ago, so im bumming off the tafe net. Found a few pics this morning from Monday so ill post them up.
I think the pics are from Pete (skidman) and Arif (I think? sorry man, not sure i know your name - Dioxide)
Robo and casey im waiting to see your pics but tafe cant see photobucket or imageshack pics so youll have to post them up or send them to me http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tup.gif
Ive gotta say with all the bullcrap i had to deal with it was like way worth it to get out on track and have some fun. Im talking like scales tipping over and making a 3feet hole in the ground worth it...

I think there is a drift day this sunday coming? if it is im gona miss it as i need to focus on finishing my tafe studies for the year, then i can drift every weekend next year when i have a good paying job http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif
Ill probly be taking some time out to sand, bog and paint my guards and bonnet so theyre back looking good.
My christmas shopping list is currently Ps arms and 86 shocks so i can finally put my 86 struts in, some form of 4 link.

I actually saw you turning into...that street that leads to your street off the main road....(yeah, real descriptive I know). I was in my KE and we beeped but you were pretty much long gone. Love the car, it's a pretty big inspiration for my car, as is the Midnight Mechanics in general. I'll have to come have a chat one day when I'm at Laurens house.

thanks for the comments fellas

oh, and fuck i hate wreckers!
i rang up a wrecker today in kamoltz court that told me he had a ae71/ke70 late model around with a 'straight' front bar
I needed to make sure so i asked twice to make sure it was straight otherwise there was no point in getting it (replacing my mangled one)

Get to the wreckers, guy doesnt even show me where it is.. just points in the area of where to go. When we FINALLY found the bloody thing (stacked ontop of another ke70)...

lets see... how do i put this, the car was so bent front onwards that it was beyond recognition

If thats the defination of straight i hope none of these guys go into the panel beating business

20sil: nah sorry i dont have a spare handbrake, mine doesnt even work http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/greenbounce.gif

Andrew: yea it was bargain spares, rofl, yesterday i rang up every wreckers in the phone book i could find... Found a whole lot of nothing. lol i rang up another wreckers and the guy told me he didnt know what he had, and sayd come down and have a look.
So i went on to tell him that the last wreckers that i rang up dogged me and told me that they had a straight bar there etc and it turned out to be the exact opposite blah blah and im not coming down there unless he can tell me he has one there that is straight.
He asked me what was the name of the wreckers, i said 'bargain spares'
that place was called southport wreckers, different add in the book and even a different phone number, then the address caught my eye: 9 kamoltz court, same fucking address as bargain spares http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wtf.gif

Brenton thanks for the offer, but i have my old doors their as well. its just a matter of figuring out what is not in place or what is broken on the new doors...

lol, funniest thing ever
i keep getting pulled up in my mates car every time i drive it
its a bog stock ke70 same model as mine, and yet i havent been pulled up in mine as of yet (thank god!!)

anyway, my mate needed to make a call the other day so he chucked me the keys, about 5 mins down the road doing the speed limit, a cop comes right up my arse. so i pull into the left lane, he does the same thing... 'ok sick, im bout to get pulled up cause this cars too high'
the left lane i pulled into turned in a merge lane, so jumped over as did he etc. lights come on, i pull over

'Gday mate, just a simple licence check'
hand him my licence, he looks at it for a sec, goes 'yep your right, cheers' and takes off. DIDNT EVEN ASK ME IF IT WAS MY CAR!!!!

i laughed my arse off afterwards wondering if they checked the plates and ran my licence #

oh stories... me and my mates have a few lol

Who had a good new years eve
had a good time hanging out with a few mates etc
lol, we walked about a street and a half to meet a mate that was driving to the house last night after we had had a few drinks. When we saw him he stoped and was gona take us back there. So me being me decided to go for the ride sitting on the boot facing sideways...

my mate took off to about 20kph rofl and i just fell straight off, tryed to land on my feet despite me facing perpendicular to the direction i was travling it. Hit the ground, fell over, rolled (still at 20kph or whatever), CRACK hit my head smack on the bitumen. Yea it was good...

Luckily at that point in time i had 3 1.9 standard drinks

Lesson learned: Drink more - Things hurt less

Also we headed up to the beach and got a beach fire started. Was good fun, it lasted a whole 2 minutes but yea was good.

like two years ago on new years we were fly kicking that pole so it would turn off and we could run round in the dark. kept turning back on every 10 mins tho http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif

9/1/07: Save making another post

Went for a drive up to streeters today, got a second hand speedo drive so i can finally see what speed im doing haha
He's going to order in for me a new dizzy rotor button (spare), brand new clips to hold in my pads on the ae86 calipers, And brand spankin new Power Steering Arms.
Should all be in, with my GT4 celica short strokes as the shocks by then end of next week.
I will also have those Trailing Arms in that i previously posted.

Im also planning to eventually have bolt on spacers on the rear of the car, and will be getting some bolt on flaires to suite that http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif sooo hot

For all that are in QLD and havent dealt with ken streeter i would recommend it. He has most, or nearly every part for ae86's for spares laying around, or can get them in. He also orders in Brand new parts from toyota, usually cheaper than you would pay at your local toyota parts.
Other things he does is fabrication for those tricky little things for 4age conversions.
His prices are also very cheap for parts and is always happy to lend helpful advice.

haha cheers mate

all 86 stuff is in, so gay... brakes are like half the size and not vented...
however its hot and bling

Massive thanks to charlie (that angle whore with the beige and blue keto) who came down and gave me a helping hand with putting all this stuff in.

however, i have a sick feeling in the gut. This to me does not look as much lock as you should get from power steering arms. Can anyone tell me (only if you actually know for sure) if this is the normal amount of lock you get? Its not hitting anything or scrubbing at all, thats full lock

the arms are definately shorter than the old Ra60 ones, but theyre long fuckers anyway..

Also the ae86 struts are soo much lower... i lowerd my car off the jack and my guards fell right onto my tires... so now i have to run without the 25mm spacers http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif

Sigh... looks like im running stock offset this sunday, cant find some springs that will definately be ok to run the 25mm extra...

Jase gave me a set of kings that are chopped but itll be close and for all that work in such little time itll probly end up i cant run the spacers anyway.

On another note had a scary situation today. Have had a clicking/cluking/knocking noise in the rear of my car.
Started just after my Trailing arms went in so assumed it was that, obivously not a good thing but checked em out the other day and they seemed ok.
got worse two days ago, happend more often from different things... then took a wild guess this arvo as i had droplets of oil coming out of my axles and the noises seemed to be happening on both sides now.
Took off my rear drums, checked it out and i was right:
My bloody bolts holding my axles in were loose!!

Havent driven the car since i fixed that this arvo, but i assume thats what was causing the majority of sound. Just glad i got to those bolts before the axles fell off!
bolts had spring washers and all so they should have been fine, i guess they just didnt get tightened enough when the diff was locked.

v-tec

Not sure what your on about mate, what are you talking about when you say that i think im just a bit confused.

lol my car died today... again
Same problem as what hit me on the 86 cruise as well as the track day so the problems deeper... i think its something to do with my fuel pumps earth.
When i drive the car all of a sudden it comes on with the charge light and i have absolutely not throttle response. You can hear the butterfly open but the car just rolls to a stop cause nothing will keep it going.

Basically its not injecting any fuel into the motor, and i have no spark from the leads... however it does work at the coil.
It just mysteriously dieing and then working again so it has to be something to do with a wiring connection, however i have no idea what could kill the dizzy and pump at the same time

Dam that sucks Grant, where abouts have you got your fuel pump earthed? I got mine earthed on the tunnel where every other earth wire runs, works good.

It would seem that the problem was not related to the 4age loom, however despite having to fork out the amount of money i am glad to have a fresh loom which would have a reasonable guarantee of no problems.

The fuel pump is mounted underneath the fuel tank bracket and is earth to a seperate bolt which connects close to there. My guess is that it is not always getting a good connection. I plan to check all the connection points of the fuel pump wiring, as well as put a proper connection for the earth point (as it is currently just bare wire rapped around a bolt) as well as properally sand the point to ensure the connection is proper

On another note my car will soon be sporting stickers that pronounce 'SPONSORED BY MURPHYS LAW'

sounds like your problem is alternator related, your battery is running flat, your fuel pump cant run without power. I have the wiring diagram for the alternator somewhere, but yeah, fix those wires up and youll fix your problem.
