4th May 2006, 01:21 PM
That looks hot, can't wait to see some pics/vids of it in action!

And that exhaust rocks!

12th May 2006, 03:33 PM
thanks for all the coments fellas, im really happy how its looking. But yea, im still not holding my breath on having it at a track day soon.

its still horribly out of tune, im also begining to think there an injector problem or something like that as well. but atm i really dont have the time, knowledge or money to find out soon.
there is a idol problem as well so thatll have to be the first thing to fix

also, look familiar?

bleh... was bored this arvo at tafe so thought id find old pics of my motor (previously andy's). I wish it was still that clean haha

12th May 2006, 03:41 PM
... wow!! sounds exactly like how my 86 is running!!!

i have the same wheels... but mine arent so shiny! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

howd you get yours like that?? professional clean??

good work man, keep it up http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/2thumbs.gif

12th May 2006, 08:07 PM
i just got some polish from super cheap and when balistic... the front left wheel is really bad nik tho... like scratches and shit all over it. would need a proper acid wash or something... lol

you know i live like a street away from monk hey, if u over at his anytime you boys should pop over.

15th May 2006, 11:52 AM
to easy... next time we are we will... but we aren't over at his house much... he doesn't like it when his mum hits on me... and when i hit on her too...

15th May 2006, 03:02 PM
If you have an injector problem just swap them with jasons ect. or flow test them I have an Injector tester at home But from how it sounded on the video i dont think that would be ur problem is it possable the loom doesnt match the injectors?

Slydar was sayin that you need to match injectors with loom or some shit give him a PM about it, but hard to diagnose without looking at proplery + Im new to toyotas and N/A.

17th May 2006, 06:58 PM
Thought id post some pics of my corolla next to my 'daily driver' lol... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/huh.gif
Licence suspensions are great http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wtf.gif

And also update a bit, rego paid, and about $80 from paying off my fine in full. Soon as thats done ill get into the mod plate getting done. Get the muffler in and then get stuck into making it run all sweet.
i have been playing around with the timing a bit lately, but am lacking in tools to do it properly myself.
Also took off the throttle body, gasket glued all that up and the same for a little plate that is under it... i think a custom bit.

I also have to save for the next track day i will get to etc so more money.
Hopefully someone will soon buy this puppy and ill be back on easy street... for a while http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/unsure.gif

20th May 2006, 08:29 PM

7th August 2006, 05:34 PM
someone decided to also add this to my collection for the pos of the year

that was a few nights ago, then i got up this morning and found this

no matter tho, the police know bout it now and will be going around to a few certain people.

7th August 2006, 06:22 PM

8th August 2006, 12:36 PM
that is fucking bullshit man. Stupid idiots who do dumb arse things.

9th August 2006, 05:54 PM
Woah holy crap, Bastards (bitches?)
similar thing happened to mine, apparently it was 2 chicks, keyed my bonnet and front guard.

Its bullshit.

9th August 2006, 07:04 PM
well its got 2 be some one you know i mean its a ke70 with "drift it" keyed on http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif but thats suks

9th August 2006, 07:24 PM
aah well.. looked like it needed a respray anyway http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif

but when you find the person who did it... key them.. so they learn their lesson.

btw, put the SSR's back on. they looked mad on the car.

10th August 2006, 06:44 PM
SSR's will be back on sometime when i get the thing going... not sure when thatll be.

currently keeping them off so they dont get stolen... or so noone gets a blunt object to the head while in the process..

also... turns out that guard buffed out with my magical anti-yourcargotfukedup polish

also gave the guards a little hammer love while i had the panels off

10th August 2006, 10:27 PM
man what sad people out there, what do u get out of doing shit like that to cars they should all die lol,
like tha car man old skool http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/2thumbs.gif

11th August 2006, 09:30 PM
but when you find the person who did it... key them.. so they learn their lesson.[/b]

Ermmm, Wouldn't advise the revenge key-ing. because then they know who it is, and it just becomes a game of one-upmanship. trust me, i've been there. Just get the po-po onto them and they'll sort it out.

And just remember, what goes around comes around - they've fucked up you're car, so you know some bad shit's gotta happen to them. It's just karma.

She looks fucking schmick though, envying the whole 4AGE thing you have going

13th August 2006, 07:14 PM
yea, there wont be revenge keying going round... they might get some face key marks tho lol if i find them

i dummy fitted the mk1s on with the guard... looks ok, needs to get some stretched tire going + the springs need to set an appointment with the angle grinder

i have been trying to limit the amount of posts lately till i actually got something worth while done...
dont really want this to turn into a 26 page long thread like on SD.com haha

here's my latest half baked idea on how to be cooler http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/2thumbs.gif

14th August 2006, 09:34 AM
looking real good man, really coming along now!! guard looks hott! good to see u at the drift day, sorry i couldnt have a chat

Its gotta be timing... if not then its some sorta sensor :S

EDIT: Got the car running today!
still has a few problems but it doesnt kick around and shit like it used to. not too sure if its still running rich... that may have been the map sensor problem. But right now it idols at 2000rpm and splurts when you rev it
still is in better condition than ive ever had it

29th August 2006, 01:04 PM

11th September 2006, 11:47 AM
alas the thing has died the same night we had got it going, figured it would be something simple like a plug falling out... im stumped but. No idea.

The car stalled as its alot more bitey at 1000 idol than at 2000, and for some reason i now dont have a working fuel pump, and no spark.

tested the ecu, checked the fuel pump + & - connection and checked all the engine fuses... they all seem fine so im not sure.
This is typical of my luck tho... if i cant figure out whats going on with it now im gona get a whole new loom built from scratch so i know its all good and working.

11th September 2006, 12:07 PM
Your car hates you.

Sad to hear, I was looking forward to seeing this thing on the roads.

ae86 slide

Finally got the thing onto the road this week, mod plated and running.
The car made its debut today at the Ae cruise organise by drift 86.

Went ok, needs to be lower... alot. And im having some timing and exhaust issues. But thats basically why i took it out, to test it all out before the track day.
That all should be cleared up this week and ill have it out on track this saturday in which ive prebooked already.

Got these a few weeks ago, resprayed them, got the disks machine and repacked. Got new centre caps and locking pins. Just waiting now on Calipers... so basically new Ae86 struts for under $200

Also this is going on this week before the track day

15th October 2006, 07:21 PM
this car hates you man. tried to throw of a left hand rear wheel today on the cruise. seriously thoughit was just a bent rim, we laughed and joked about it for like 5 minutes following you and then felt like a prick when we stopped at Pancho's and you were doing the nuts up!!!

good to see it's finally behaving itself.

15th October 2006, 07:44 PM
love this car!! so pig but so neat lol! too bad about the problems, and so lucky that fukin wheel didnt come off!

15th October 2006, 09:35 PM
yea i was actually thinking about it on the way up to yatla... was like nahhhh couldnt be happening. Thought it was the right tho, as i checked that when i got there.

im very sickened today at the ride height of this thing...
i would be making it a ground scraper if it wasnt my daily http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/crazy.gif

16th October 2006, 09:12 AM

18th October 2006, 05:57 PM
Yeah im glad that wheel stayed on!

BTW i want my wheel nut back http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

19th October 2006, 02:51 PM

19th October 2006, 04:19 PM
What do wheel nuts do again?

Put my oil cooler on last night, thanks to chris (gone) for being a champ bout the sandwhich plate mount.
Also the old falcon springs are going back in the rear before saturday, truck pipe exhaust will be back on.
And im now running 186/60 Falken Azenis on the front http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/cool.gif

Also i may have finally fixed my fuel coming up the charchol issue thanks to the knowledgable members of ae86drivingclub.

Wow thanks for the comments everyone
i gotta say a feel really bad for cass, jason and jason

Cops, walls and T50's arent really on our 'we love you' list at them moment

i havent been on the net in ages cause my computer craped its pants a few weeks ago, so im bumming off the tafe net. Found a few pics this morning from Monday so ill post them up.
I think the pics are from Pete (skidman) and Arif (I think? sorry man, not sure i know your name - Dioxide)
Robo and casey im waiting to see your pics but tafe cant see photobucket or imageshack pics so youll have to post them up or send them to me http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tup.gif
Ive gotta say with all the bullcrap i had to deal with it was like way worth it to get out on track and have some fun. Im talking like scales tipping over and making a 3feet hole in the ground worth it...

That pic was the first track day with the new motor, notice the space saver spec et pulsar rims. theyre now purple.... dont ask why

I think there is a drift day this sunday coming? if it is im gona miss it as i need to focus on finishing my tafe studies for the year, then i can drift every weekend next year when i have a good paying job http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif
Ill probly be taking some time out to sand, bog and paint my guards and bonnet so theyre back looking good.
My christmas shopping list is currently Ps arms and 86 shocks so i can finally put my 86 struts in, some form of 4 link.

8th November 2006, 05:35 PM

8th November 2006, 11:30 PM
I actually saw you turning into...that street that leads to your street off the main road....(yeah, real descriptive I know). I was in my KE and we beeped but you were pretty much long gone. Love the car, it's a pretty big inspiration for my car, as is the Midnight Mechanics in general. I'll have to come have a chat one day when I'm at Laurens house.

9th November 2006, 10:01 AM

"the majestic AE71 having arisen from its slumber, heads to higher ground to search for lesser nissans and hachi's on which to feed, then looks to embarass impressive 86 driver (Jase) who fails to perform once confined within its belly"

spoke to Jase today, said he doesn't know how you do it. thats massive props!!

9th December 2006, 09:04 PM
Fark that thing is tough, easily the toughest slant nose *E7* about.

10th December 2006, 12:42 AM

10th December 2006, 06:46 PM
haha dave, it was parked like that when i was waiting for jase to finish work and then come up with me to the drift night (didnt wanna waste time when he got there driving the bitch up the driveway)

Walked past and was like dayyyyymmnnn http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/2thumbs.gif

But i like your way of saying it.
Yea both jasons were saying they are surprised i can drive it as well as i do (after one jason who will remain nameless almost buried it under 6 feet of QR dirt traps http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/unsure.gif
needless to say i think i need to get shocks and ps arms asap and get my 86 struts in.

Apart from that im franticly trying to get my car painted for next year, only doing the detachable bits of the car as it is only a ke and im just doing the same color, just so the thing looks fresher.
So far ive boged and flaired the two guards, 1 door and the window wiper tray... still have three doors and a bonnet to do http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/crazy.gif

Heres a pic of the front lip stuck, as i said its just the lip off jasons old streeter front bar

free plug for jason

EDIT YO: cooler is in just mounted behind the grill all gloss black and stuff

however i want to mount it ghetto ke spec, however i didnt in fear of totally gutting someone up with the cooler incase i hit them at speeds more than 165kph http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wtf.gif

Its really dark cause my ultra mega homosexual x1000 Xlr computer died a few weeks ago so now i cant edit picture brightness. Also it may have something to do with me not taking the picture right...

Heres how it is actually looking tho

14th December 2006, 07:01 PM
thats awesome, im looking to get one, but im going to mount it in front of my grill with the hoses coming through full jap spec. Its interesting watching your build up because we have such simmilar cars.

i might update mine.

19th December 2006, 06:40 PM
Panels are all painted, just doing them red again
thanks for the comments fellas

oh, and fuck i hate wreckers!
i rang up a wrecker today in kamoltz court that told me he had a ae71/ke70 late model around with a 'straight' front bar
I needed to make sure so i asked twice to make sure it was straight otherwise there was no point in getting it (replacing my mangled one)

Get to the wreckers, guy doesnt even show me where it is.. just points in the area of where to go. When we FINALLY found the bloody thing (stacked ontop of another ke70)...

lets see... how do i put this, the car was so bent front onwards that it was beyond recognition

If thats the defination of straight i hope none of these guys go into the panel beating business

19th December 2006, 06:49 PM
hot car hey. i especially like your zebra styles on the floor. lol

20th December 2006, 02:20 AM
yeah they are idiots, me and my mates rock up and go have you got any 114.3 x 4's

and he goes nar whats it for, and we go ke 70 or sprintang, and he goes nar those are 4 x 110 or something, and he had like this arguement with us, and i was like, there is one out side, i dare you to measure it. Said he wouldnt waste his time because he knows hes right. Its like so the 5 other pairs ive had of 114.3 miraculously fitted through shear majesty.

20th December 2006, 07:44 AM
Hey Grant you wouldnt happen to have a spare handbrake assembly would you? With a button in it.

20th December 2006, 10:36 AM
If those wreckers were Bargain Auto Spares, I wouldn't expect anything different. They're dodge as, damn expensive and have large, scary dogs on relatively small chains...

ae86 slide
21st December 2006, 07:20 AM
grant how did your spray can paint job go?

21st December 2006, 01:37 PM
What seems to be the problem officers?? http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/unsure.gif

20sil: nah sorry i dont have a spare handbrake, mine doesnt even work http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/greenbounce.gif

Andrew: yea it was bargain spares, rofl, yesterday i rang up every wreckers in the phone book i could find... Found a whole lot of nothing. lol i rang up another wreckers and the guy told me he didnt know what he had, and sayd come down and have a look.
So i went on to tell him that the last wreckers that i rang up dogged me and told me that they had a straight bar there etc and it turned out to be the exact opposite blah blah and im not coming down there unless he can tell me he has one there that is straight.
He asked me what was the name of the wreckers, i said 'bargain spares'
that place was called southport wreckers, different add in the book and even a different phone number, then the address caught my eye: 9 kamoltz court, same fucking address as bargain spares http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wtf.gif

Haha so i just explained in detail to the dodgy c**ts that they suck arse without me knowing it was actually them http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif

Jase: yea paint job turned out good, probly about as good as a spray can job would come out i didnt expect much better. Come over and have a look if you want. Its getting all reasembled this arvo and trmo before i have to go back to work. Will give it a coat of auto wax too so it has more shine and protection

21st December 2006, 02:04 PM
looks tougher than the dakota trail

22nd December 2006, 03:47 PM
Who ordered the HOT SAUCE!!??

New paint goes ok, looks wayyy cleaner and the guards look the goods flaired out... still done come out to the tires tho haha
On a very negative note my door handles are being ultra gayness to the maxxx
Note the triple x for the maximum amount of explicit gayness that the doors are having

Basically my front doors wont open from the outside, the handles arent pulling the lever right or something... the drivers door i can open if i pull the handle hard enough but its still not working right

22nd December 2006, 04:53 PM
awesome man,

simply awesome

22nd December 2006, 07:53 PM

I just decided what I'm doign with my christmas break, thanks for the inspiration!

22nd December 2006, 08:13 PM
Looks tough as. If you the door continues to hassle you just drop by Laurens and you can have the door off our one until you get your one fixed. (Tom speaking)

22nd December 2006, 08:33 PM
shit man, that is looking great!
And time to start running spacers on the rear aswell i reckon!

22nd December 2006, 09:29 PM
Im considering 25mm rears and getting the angle grinder to the guards with some bolt on flairs
plus i also wanna find some 14x8 - something wheels for the front then have my 14x6.5 0's on the rear

Brenton thanks for the offer, but i have my old doors their as well. its just a matter of figuring out what is not in place or what is broken on the new doors...

lol, funniest thing ever
i keep getting pulled up in my mates car every time i drive it
its a bog stock ke70 same model as mine, and yet i havent been pulled up in mine as of yet (thank god!!)

anyway, my mate needed to make a call the other day so he chucked me the keys, about 5 mins down the road doing the speed limit, a cop comes right up my arse. so i pull into the left lane, he does the same thing... 'ok sick, im bout to get pulled up cause this cars too high'
the left lane i pulled into turned in a merge lane, so jumped over as did he etc. lights come on, i pull over

'Gday mate, just a simple licence check'
hand him my licence, he looks at it for a sec, goes 'yep your right, cheers' and takes off. DIDNT EVEN ASK ME IF IT WAS MY CAR!!!!

i laughed my arse off afterwards wondering if they checked the plates and ran my licence #

oh stories... me and my mates have a few lol

22nd December 2006, 09:37 PM
Yeah thats looking real nice, have you got any other plans for it?

*cough* wanna help remove sound deadening? *cough*

Hahaha, damn its a shit job.

25th December 2006, 07:29 PM
I wanna extent a huge thanks to my neighbour Nath, whos also good friends of a few members here as far as i know.
even knows some of the shanty boys i think http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/greenbounce.gif
Anyway, he lent me all the polish, wax and terry towels i could ever need to finish up the paint on my car. And it came up beauty, soo hot, want to touch the hiny

Yea shaun sound deadenings a bitch, just gota stick at it... took me about a 24 hours if you put all the hours together roughly... worth the end result tho...
maybe a good idea to leave some on the passanger firewall/footwell if you consider a 4age conversion tho...

Im getting into some Ps arms hopefully sometime after this week as ill have some spare cash around. So that means ill be on the way to getting my ae86 struts into the front.
Also got some rose jointed rear end top arms off jason for free!! champion, he even fixed my doors that wouldnt open for me yesterday. So thats all sorted now
robo's got me keep on quads too as i need some 4age hotness after i get this 86 stuff in.

woo my spinning... too much talk of spending money

Oh and i hope everyone had a awesome day today, and the hangovers for tmro are minimal despite the .25 blood alchol at this point in time

25th December 2006, 07:35 PM
you know i love it to death!!! will have to come see it in real life

25th December 2006, 08:27 PM

26th December 2006, 10:02 AM

1st January 2007, 08:14 PM
Looks great man very nice! wicked sliggety pics to. Do you have any vids?

1st January 2007, 09:15 PM
Thanks mate, nah dont have any vids atm... im awaiting some footage from robo atm, but not sure if thats gona emerge or when...
will have to get him to take some more http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

20sil its hard to say how much ive spent so far. Probly would be looking at around the 4k mark, thats a bit of a wild guess.

Car $500
Engine $450
Clutch and flywheel $250
Extractors $220
Wiring loom and computer $200
Ignitor and coil $150
exhaust $300 + legal exhaust $150
Mod plate $200
Mod plate Bullshit $80
Fines $300

Not sure ay... theres a whole heap of other stuff, i personally dont wanna think about it lol
you got all oils, fluids, coolant pipes, repairs, spare bits that keep breaking http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif

Who had a good new years eve
had a good time hanging out with a few mates etc
lol, we walked about a street and a half to meet a mate that was driving to the house last night after we had had a few drinks. When we saw him he stoped and was gona take us back there. So me being me decided to go for the ride sitting on the boot facing sideways...

my mate took off to about 20kph rofl and i just fell straight off, tryed to land on my feet despite me facing perpendicular to the direction i was travling it. Hit the ground, fell over, rolled (still at 20kph or whatever), CRACK hit my head smack on the bitumen. Yea it was good...

Luckily at that point in time i had 3 1.9 standard drinks

Lesson learned: Drink more - Things hurt less

Also we headed up to the beach and got a beach fire started. Was good fun, it lasted a whole 2 minutes but yea was good.

1st January 2007, 09:40 PM

glad to hear ya had a good one mate!!!!!!!!

Plans sound great with car 2007 will be a good one for the ae71's of midnight mechanics!!!!!!!!!!

2nd January 2007, 02:56 PM
indeedy sounds like its got the same priorities as mine. Me might have to start our own xe7x drift team. I was wanting to start one called garage boro.

Sounds liek ur new year's was fun haha

2nd January 2007, 07:50 PM
Hehe, sounds like a good new years. I spent a fair deal of my new years in your street...that light pole out the front of Laurens house - 1, rear bumper - nil...lucky they're big fuck off black things you can hardly notice.

3rd January 2007, 11:41 AM
rofl did it turn off at least??

like two years ago on new years we were fly kicking that pole so it would turn off and we could run round in the dark. kept turning back on every 10 mins tho http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif

my brother tryed to climb the pole to take the light out as well haha
only got about 3/4's of the way..

3rd January 2007, 11:45 AM
Nope, it won hands down. I was happy though because at first I thought I hit Lauren's car. Their driveway is awkward as fuck.

7th January 2007, 06:32 PM
Representin Yo!

7th January 2007, 07:16 PM

or is it they are ment to be really stiff to move... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/huh.gif

nah they are supposed to move fluidly...

9th January 2007, 11:47 AM
ah k cheers, yea i think they should be right for a bit jase

9/1/07: Save making another post

Went for a drive up to streeters today, got a second hand speedo drive so i can finally see what speed im doing haha
He's going to order in for me a new dizzy rotor button (spare), brand new clips to hold in my pads on the ae86 calipers, And brand spankin new Power Steering Arms.
Should all be in, with my GT4 celica short strokes as the shocks by then end of next week.
I will also have those Trailing Arms in that i previously posted.

Im also planning to eventually have bolt on spacers on the rear of the car, and will be getting some bolt on flaires to suite that http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif sooo hot

For all that are in QLD and havent dealt with ken streeter i would recommend it. He has most, or nearly every part for ae86's for spares laying around, or can get them in. He also orders in Brand new parts from toyota, usually cheaper than you would pay at your local toyota parts.
Other things he does is fabrication for those tricky little things for 4age conversions.
His prices are also very cheap for parts and is always happy to lend helpful advice.

9th January 2007, 08:42 PM
Whats Ken Streeters number and location?

9th January 2007, 09:04 PM
Hey vtec, i could probably get you two new rose joints cheap if that would help at all...

9th January 2007, 10:56 PM
yes that could possibly help, i might get a second opionin off jase sometime this week. I would have to say my thoughts are that its currently in usuable condition at this moment.

Will pm you if i need to bustin, cheers mate

Streeter by Streeter:
07 55463033

Not sure on the exact address, however the street is Centenary Place, logan village, Queensland
Call his workshop and you can get the exact details

10th January 2007, 11:45 AM
No probs mate...just let me know

11th January 2007, 12:17 AM
Got the Top arms in this afternoon, didnt plan to but glad i got it over and done.
Biatch of a job, bolt were on tought as, and low cars make underbody work very unpleasant.

Also broke my 17mm spanner http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif
Superworks FTL! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tdn.gif http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/dry.gif

Rose joints look hot tho, i think i need to wind it right down tho so no thread is shown there. think it needs some hardcore WD40 treatment for that to happen tho.
Very excited about getting my ps arms soon too, so hopefully the car will be well set up for the 21st day.

More bling! Jaysus! Your on baller status dude http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

16th January 2007, 08:49 PM
What are they?

16th January 2007, 08:55 PM
power steering arms, for extra lock sikness.........

16th January 2007, 08:58 PM
Power steering arms, shit loads of lock!
Nice work, should be awsome!

Bah, you beat me Gilly.

16th January 2007, 09:07 PM
How much did u get the power steering arms for if u dont mind me asking. Local toyota wants $350 for them http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/ohmy.gif

16th January 2007, 11:00 PM
Streeter by streeter: $300

yes, means rediculous lock. Will be going in for sunday with ae86 struts, and St185 short stroke shocks

17th January 2007, 04:47 PM
also on my list of things to do

17th January 2007, 10:18 PM
You have no idea how lucky we were to make it to Brenton's today. So many times I found myself staring in the rear vision mirror instead of watching the road.

Dangerous, yet so hot.

18th January 2007, 07:07 PM
haha cheers mate

all 86 stuff is in, so gay... brakes are like half the size and not vented...
however its hot and bling

Massive thanks to charlie (that angle whore with the beige and blue keto) who came down and gave me a helping hand with putting all this stuff in.

however, i have a sick feeling in the gut. This to me does not look as much lock as you should get from power steering arms. Can anyone tell me (only if you actually know for sure) if this is the normal amount of lock you get? Its not hitting anything or scrubbing at all, thats full lock

the arms are definately shorter than the old Ra60 ones, but theyre long fuckers anyway..

Also the ae86 struts are soo much lower... i lowerd my car off the jack and my guards fell right onto my tires... so now i have to run without the 25mm spacers http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif
So now the tires sit hidden behind the guard inside.

Planning on rushing to a wreckers tmro and carving up a new set of springs to suit the new struts...
will see how i go

18th January 2007, 07:10 PM
your probably comparing it to a spoonter cause they will naturally have more lock than a keto

18th January 2007, 07:25 PM
looking tops granty

cant wait till sunday we will shred

19th January 2007, 06:13 PM
Sigh... looks like im running stock offset this sunday, cant find some springs that will definately be ok to run the 25mm extra...

Jase gave me a set of kings that are chopped but itll be close and for all that work in such little time itll probly end up i cant run the spacers anyway.

On another note had a scary situation today. Have had a clicking/cluking/knocking noise in the rear of my car.
Started just after my Trailing arms went in so assumed it was that, obivously not a good thing but checked em out the other day and they seemed ok.
got worse two days ago, happend more often from different things... then took a wild guess this arvo as i had droplets of oil coming out of my axles and the noises seemed to be happening on both sides now.
Took off my rear drums, checked it out and i was right:
My bloody bolts holding my axles in were loose!!

Havent driven the car since i fixed that this arvo, but i assume thats what was causing the majority of sound. Just glad i got to those bolts before the axles fell off!
bolts had spring washers and all so they should have been fine, i guess they just didnt get tightened enough when the diff was locked.

19th January 2007, 08:18 PM
damn man ur car is sick, looks so tuff

19th January 2007, 09:49 PM
the chariot of death had given you a repreive for the last few months, only so you would regain faith in it again.

it is then when you least expect it, it unveils its plan to fuk your shit up for the umpteenth time

20th January 2007, 10:30 AM
^^^ Hahahahahaha

thats so true, its been quite good to me lately...
i can feel a 'your gona get fuked up in the arse bigtime' lurking in the shadows

20th January 2007, 10:33 AM
Lmao, Gilly's always good at explaining the sinister side of corolla's.

How'd you pull up after last night Grant? How'd surfers go?

20th January 2007, 01:41 PM
Not having much luck with this new setup hey, haha if your feeling decent enough today id say put the kings in.

What springs are you running at the moment?

20th January 2007, 08:45 PM
i think one of the brakes is shot so not sure, atm the brakes are really squishy... and the left one grabs more

i have falcon springs in the front atm, but now that theyre too low im keen to get some proper 8kg springs.

Tubby, id reply but tallked to you this arvo lol so think you already know how we went..... ooooooo working at maccas with a hangover is sooo not cooll

20th January 2007, 09:04 PM
Hehe, yeah, judging by Nath's voice I've got a fair idea.

I took some spy shots of your car when you weren't lookin' too. Yeah, sneaky. Want me to upload 'em for you?

Got more pics of the Dragan all cambered up and shit I've got to put on too.

20th January 2007, 09:21 PM
i thought the falcon springs were used in the rear how stiff do they feel in the front?

20th January 2007, 09:29 PM
Not stiff enough haha

20th January 2007, 09:33 PM
Do the Falcon springs sit on the ae86 struts properly? Or do they move around? if you know what I mean? They'd be stiffer than king springs wouldn't they?

21st January 2007, 11:21 AM
OMFG!!!! This car is going to turn me emo i swere

Well turns out i didnt even get a chance to make it up to the track today, me, charlie and all my mates got to the ipswitch bp and i got no further. Car wouldnt start after filling up the car.

My biggest bet is its the loom (AGAIN!!!1!1!), anyway dizzy has no spark. so my mate had to tow charlie up come back and take me home. i didnt want to go to the track cause i was that pissed off.

the chariot of death had given you a repreive for the last few months, only so you would regain faith in it again.

Gilly mate, i think we jinxed this car biiiiiggg time. So yea, looking at getting a whole new loom now cause i am sick of this shit.
I missed the best track day i would have ever driven at because my car is a gay Pos.

sorry... im on a rant, i put in soooo much time and effort into this car for this particular day and i just got fuked up the arse bigtime.

Stiff that king springs and sit in the seats and hats properally, however if you cut them down they will be uncaptive (ie will fall out of the seats as they lift up and down)

21st January 2007, 12:03 PM

new loom FTW!!!!

guess i won't see you there later today http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

21st January 2007, 12:51 PM
bummer dude

21st January 2007, 06:33 PM
Well Grant you didnt miss much today, delays and shit all day, was pretty poorly run and i got burnt to the shithouse. Steve had issues and was ripping it up all day.

21st January 2007, 08:16 PM
Grant, I was soooo gutted when we had to leave you behind. I was looking forward to seeing you rip it up out there with Charlie and Mark. It was such a shit start to the day. I'd have to be one of the most useless, most unorganised fucks around. First I over sleep, then miss the Coomera turn off, THEN I got to the track and realised I had socks but no shoes...lucky Nath comes prepared for my uselessness.

Missed you there today, would have been awesome...Charlie did awesome though and I was with Scuba for a fair whack of the day and he was absolutely tearing it apart.

21st January 2007, 08:21 PM
yea sounds like it was a awesome day http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif

haha yea andrew, we were wondering were you were lol, no matter
at least charlie had a good time, someone rep'in the ae71's

going to try and contact anthony from kaizen tmro and see about getting a whole new loom built.

21st January 2007, 08:27 PM
We realised today that if all the kids like Tom everyone get their shit together, just from the ones there today, we could have a squad of about 9 keto's out there. Now THAT sounds like a good day.

The search for an AE71 donor begins.

21st January 2007, 08:51 PM
9? holy dooly, whos? Theres mine, Grant, Charlie, Mark, You, Tom, thats all i can count.

Hey Grant, im going up to Kaizen Garage tommorow to grab some stuff, you got Ant's number?

21st January 2007, 08:57 PM
Well, there's You, me, Grant, Charlie, Mark, then all my mates (Brenton/mine, Adam, Tom, Lauren, Nath) though the build time on a few of those I'm tipping will take some time.

22nd January 2007, 02:03 AM
drift ke70 ^^

22nd January 2007, 05:23 PM
oh Granty Grant

i was sooooooooo cut when u called me mate, just fuckin bullshit.

Our time will come though mate!!!

Stay strong grant, Shit experiences like this give you more will, more strength to kick that clutch even harder next track day

22nd January 2007, 05:56 PM

22nd January 2007, 06:49 PM
Looking into getting a new loom built by Kaizen... $500
big dipp outta my pay packet... If i do that itll probably be done by mid next week.

Now.... time for donations http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/greenbounce.gif

jks, but yea, might have to scrap some cash together for it, going to sell a set of wheels soon thatll contribute to that, but wanted to use up the tires cause theyre good ones lol
Mark saw pics of your car its looking hot,
Driftke70 still havent drifted with you mate http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif ... soon, soon..

22nd January 2007, 09:27 PM

ae86 slide
23rd January 2007, 08:11 AM
thats shit grant, Ive told you from the start, "this car hates you" but you wont listen.
its because you still arnt punishing it enough. have you even hit the limiter yet? give it to me and jase to drive then it will behave.
but serious good luck with the fix mate, ill come round soon and say hi.
also i got my trueno front on so i can hear turn 2 calling again (not turn 3 i hate that fucking corner with the stupidly close wall)

23rd January 2007, 10:00 AM
Haha true!
i care for this car too much, it does enjoy some limiter occasionally
yea come over man, plus i wanna see that trueno http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Just goin to a bit or a ring around, but obviously not many people would be able to do work like what kaizen does so will probly be ringing anthony this arvo and having the car up there by thursday

28th January 2007, 01:05 AM
gl man hope it works out for ya

28th January 2007, 05:09 PM
Everyone is using the heart next to their threads now.... so last season
i got the angry face cause it represents how i look at this car when it doesnt show me love.

...also its the least used icon so i figured it works

Hopefully should get my car back from ant this coming saturday. From what i hear his work is next to none so looking forward to getting the car back.... been working franticly this week to get extra money for this work to be done. Hopefully ill have a bit spare over so i can get my bolt on spacers as well.

Also got some new springs from jason this afternoon, Springs for the rear of a soarer from RSR
not sure on the bound but im guessing about 8-10kg so yeah... will be a bump mofo

28th January 2007, 11:50 PM
Nah, you look way funnier when the car doesn't work right...mullet flaring and everything.

Hopefully all's well with the car when it comes back so I can actually see it in action.

29th January 2007, 01:19 AM
when do i get my drive http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

29th January 2007, 11:56 AM
After i get mine

Rolls on floor laughing... arse off... etc http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/crazy.gif

man i want this thing back...

Pic of my new front springs

29th January 2007, 02:18 PM
methinks they are going to need "adjusting" Grant http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif

my old 8kg/mm coils were a very similar height, ended up taking a coil off to get a nice height.

still best to fit em up and see first i guess.

29th January 2007, 10:22 PM
They dont look it but theyre onlt 200mm in height, im sure they will be low enough... hopefully not too low, i did get a choice of any higher as one of the springs were already cut down

Theyre all clean and new and black now... even sanded and etch primered the cut ends to prevent rust http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif

6th February 2007, 12:04 AM
Ok got the car back from Anthony today, took quite a while longer to get the job done then thought, however, it came out good. Ant has done a great job on the wiring, and best of all it works.

Still trying to figure out when the next bloody qr track day is, whoever is organising the days isnt doing a good job as im pretty sure there is a drift day on the 25th this month (as listed on the qr calander thats been sent out) however have heard no forum news.
Guess ill have to ring them up some time and find out.

6th February 2007, 12:15 AM
Awesome. Now you can bring your spoiled shit out when we get the dragan running again.

What've you been up to Grant? haven't seen you much lately.

I wouldnt be taking any chances with those springs grant, cut em down quick smart.

6th February 2007, 01:48 PM
Yea andrew, been working my arse off man to get paid up for this loom... i need a missus, probly cheaper than this car and i wouldnt have to spend as much time around her.

Jase, them springs are cut down to max, thats seriously gona be like guard rubbing spec on there. my current springs are 180mm and the tires are seriously like through my strut top low

6th February 2007, 07:07 PM
Wicked fizz Grant, you gotta come over and have a look at mine when shes running, will be cranking it tommorow.

7th February 2007, 08:49 AM
Got a few things to do today man, if i got a spare bit of time an see you on msn will give you a buzz

7th February 2007, 02:19 PM

Couldnt resist getting these

man im bored, well off to install springs http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif

8th February 2007, 07:33 PM
Get some zebra seat covers...

8th February 2007, 07:41 PM
cow skin seat seat covers are better.

8th February 2007, 09:26 PM
pink playboy ftw

8th February 2007, 10:26 PM
im making some custom floor matts, zebra style... yea we just went dumpter diving at carpet call lol

new springs are in, i recon these springs are actually softer... not sure, old falcon springs are much closer coils and are thicker, but they are the height i want and doesnt feel worse in the car.

lol... spent all day today replacing my mates water pump in the 4kc... driving down the highway last night, blew the crap outta it... just broke straight outta the housing so the belt fell of an all that too.
All fixed but wont start i think the timing has slipped cause it just sounds like that... either that or he melted the rods.

14th February 2007, 02:04 PM
heya did you have any issues with your pedders gland nuts fitting around the insert? or being the wrong thread pattern?

14th February 2007, 03:20 PM
Not sure what your on about mate, what are you talking about when you say that i think im just a bit confused.

lol my car died today... again
Same problem as what hit me on the 86 cruise as well as the track day so the problems deeper... i think its something to do with my fuel pumps earth.
When i drive the car all of a sudden it comes on with the charge light and i have absolutely not throttle response. You can hear the butterfly open but the car just rolls to a stop cause nothing will keep it going.

Basically its not injecting any fuel into the motor, and i have no spark from the leads... however it does work at the coil.
It just mysteriously dieing and then working again so it has to be something to do with a wiring connection, however i have no idea what could kill the dizzy and pump at the same time

14th February 2007, 03:22 PM
are you running gt4 shocks in your 86 front suspension? im having problems with my gland nut that holds the shock in

14th February 2007, 03:28 PM

yea i did too... it was weird, i cant remember if we ended up using the 86 ones or not but it didnt seem to thread right to start with... i think it may have ended up working right tho.

14th February 2007, 08:28 PM
i used a different nut when i did it.

14th February 2007, 08:36 PM
Dam that sucks Grant, where abouts have you got your fuel pump earthed? I got mine earthed on the tunnel where every other earth wire runs, works good.

14th February 2007, 08:50 PM
Oh Grant thats unbeilievable!!!!!!!!!! Dam this car!!

hope ya sort her out soon man, i miss her

14th February 2007, 09:23 PM
so all that cash on the new loom could have been for nothing??? was probably worth it anyway
good luck with sorting her out

14th February 2007, 10:22 PM
It would seem that the problem was not related to the 4age loom, however despite having to fork out the amount of money i am glad to have a fresh loom which would have a reasonable guarantee of no problems.

The fuel pump is mounted underneath the fuel tank bracket and is earth to a seperate bolt which connects close to there. My guess is that it is not always getting a good connection. I plan to check all the connection points of the fuel pump wiring, as well as put a proper connection for the earth point (as it is currently just bare wire rapped around a bolt) as well as properally sand the point to ensure the connection is proper

On another note my car will soon be sporting stickers that pronounce 'SPONSORED BY MURPHYS LAW'

15th February 2007, 03:03 AM
sounds like your problem is alternator related, your battery is running flat, your fuel pump cant run without power. I have the wiring diagram for the alternator somewhere, but yeah, fix those wires up and youll fix your problem.
