Well I have some engine parts, thought I will let the local guys know before I post on the site. I have a 7 rib, bottom end with oil squirters (complete) for $100.00. welded diff centre $ 30.00 with nose cone. Std front struts $150.00. S13 brakes and hubs with disk if you wanted to do the front conversion $100.00

Just pm

Cheers

if you dont mind me asking, did you upgrade to a mechanical diff? and what brakes did you upgrade to?

Just bought a 4.1 ratio diff which I needed the crown and pinon gear from, so I still have the centre and casing. I am running a 2 way mech TRD. Brakes are JDM ones which are vented, how is the progress on your car?

well, im jus looking at engine options at the moment, leaning towards NA but still not sure.

heres a Q for you: with the power you have now, does it feel like you have to much for drift ? what are your opinions on engine power for drift?

id like to know exactly the same!

duy, you reckon it would be possibly to jump in the hachi for a ride sometime?

I am making 99rwkw on HTT dyno, sounds low? yes but I think its the fastest car i have ever owned with under 100kw. The more power you have the better for drift, the more smoke the higher the points. It is harder to drift an under powered car. Once I fix all the issue I don't like with the car, then I would be more then happy to take people for a ride.

I have out accelerated a MY00 STI from 2nd gear all the way to 5th with 99kw so you do the maths.

wow! i didn't relise you were making that sort off power...thats power2weight for you. Oh, and in future, i would love a ride in the beast also, if possible.

Do you think you will be going for more power latter on? if so what are some of your plans about getting it?

I heard a rumour that you've got yourself a GZE bottom end now (including pistons), so how much boost are you going to try and pump through the little bastard? I've heard they handle 28psi, but I very much doubt that's on standard internals. LilRocket (the orange AE71 with 4A-GTE) ran 18psi and had 190kW at the wheels (approx. 290hp at the engine). So you should be able to run WAY more than the current 5psi, with big benefits.

fo sho, that'd be sweet!

I'd be aiming for 200+kW at the wheels if I were you Dui.

that'd be scary! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/7/5/4/536981.jpg

Not with the wide-as-hell wheels and excellent suspension Dui has. Well, maybe not. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Looking at 130rwkw, which is more realistic for Darwin, once it is done. The engine is built and in the car, but no turbo or intake yet, I still have to run it in too. I am using the 20v head and a rebuilt GZE bottom, looking at running 14psi not much but keeps the car reliable. Will be down at the drags once all is good. I am aiming at a 13.5 1/4 on street tyres.

The tune here in Darwin is alot different then down in the other states, they can run advance timing of say 18deg+ on max boost of say 20psi you make 220kw, but you can only run 13deg+ up here 190kw.

sounds orsum! if you don't mind me asking who did your rebuild and where did you get the pistons, etc?

Wait till I get my 7A-GTE built. The dyno results should be interesting. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I used all toyota parts, as you can get forgies for $480 a set std with ceramic coating from toyota. The machining work was done by a mate.

8.9:1 or 8.0:1 compression pistons?

PLACEBO

did you just replace the pistons and gaskets?

omy
8th June 2006, 04:53 PM
8.9:1 from the last GZE as I want good responce. Also got the full gasket kit for the 20v which they stock in au.

Mmm, good choice. You could probably run slightly more boost with the lower 8.0:1 compression ratio, but I think the gain in boost wouldn't warrant the off-boost driveability loss.

Would still love to get a bigport engine (9.4:1 compression) and stick my supercharger on the side of it to see what sort of power it'd make. Probably have to stick to just 10psi though.

Dui, are we going to get to perve on your car at the motorkhana or not? Or are you still doing some final touches?

omy
9th June 2006, 01:44 PM
I will be there but not the car, looks like parts will not make it in time. Wanted to do the trip down there too, get some km's on the engine so I can start running boost.

Sorry about last weekend Duy, got sidetracked with other stuff that needed to be done. Would it still be cool to pick up the diff this W/E?
