I have purchased another rear end and the centre looks like this:
http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/8/4/3/107010.jpg

This isnt my picture but it looks eactly the same. Is this an s-seies?? The crown ratio is 3.9. I was assured it was but its not the same as the one i pulled out of my car when i went to swap them.

The diff centre that i pulled out of my car is slighlty bigger, has bigger axles, the tailshaft piece was bigger and had a larger distance between the holes and unfortuanaterly the ration was unreadable but looked similar to 3.9 . The centre looked ,much different with the spider gear enclosed in a extensive bracket with very limited access to gears. Also its 100% open wheeler, not LSD or mechanical.I seems like it could be a t-18 but i have never seen one and i know the previous owner dosent no wot a t-18 is let alone swap one.

Another possiblity is could it be factory?? my sprinter IS ADM but its the Super Response (SR) model similar to the Ae17 spirit (SR) model, could this had a factory t-18 rear in it as an upgrade??

If anyone has pics of a t-18 centre please please post them or pics of ur s-series

Im not sure but they looked almost identical from the outside casing but the centre is completly different. As both diffs are at the workshop i cant check til monday.

Also iv got four friends with spriners an im the only one with that badge....i though my one was special http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif

Also Cass does the centre in the pic look the same as ur old s-series??

Could it be possible they are both different models of s-series, cos both of them should be http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/crazy.gif

10 bolts = t series
8 bolts = s series

that is definately not an S series - S series has 6 "spider" gears (one for each axle, 4 "in betweens" the T series only has 4 gears in total)

Thats a t series center for sure. Ive had one apart.

As i mentioned mate, you have ALOT of space to weld http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

I dont think it could be because the axles where much SMALLER in the diff in the pic than the standard s series

the diff you have pictured also has had all the spider gears welded up creating a locker.

you can check the ratio of the centre you pulled out by counting the teeth on the crown wheel and counting the teeth on the pinion. then use the simple formula to work out ratio.

the formula is driven divided by driver.
