Hey guys, noticed there were a few Corona drivers on here so I thought I'd put these up.

Walking through the "pit area" at the Buhladelah Hill Climb a year or two ago I noticed this rather nice looking Corona:

After it screamed up the hill a couple times I decided to find out what was making that beautiful n/a sound:

A carbed 3sge!! It sounded and unbelievable and went brilliant but unfortunatly I couldn't pin down the owner to get anymore details.

Goes to show what you can do when you think outside the square!

(Sorry for the enormous pics, I'm a noob)

its a pretty simple idea. st142s use 2s engine's. so its pretty much an update. definately more complex a conversion that a 4ac to 4ag conversion, but the same idea really.

whats with it being carbereted?

Yeah, the Beams 3sge came out RWD in the altezza

But that one up there is a FWD one, or a RWD mid engined motor from the MR2

I really wish I had been able to get more details off the guy, the car was very, very fast for an n/a 2 litre, but yeah, a very serious set up for sure.

And I'm glad your inspired Keiichi! This car is half the reason I got interested in old Toyota's! At the same meet there was a guy running a turbo 4age ae71 as well. Had a locked standard diff in it with like 13x5.5's or something, it just torched the tyres all through the course, twas quite insane.

If you wanna see wierd shit go to a hill climb!

I wonder if he runs at the Newcastle Mattara hill climb...

I'm not sure, that photo was taken a while ago, so who knows where the car is by now?

If CAMS ever sends my licence through I will be tackling the Mattara in the ae71 (even if I have to drive it with the 4ac!)
