Well, I picked this up a few weeks back for $1900 and only just took pictures of it. It's my first car so I'm hoping to first, learn to drive and get my license of course, then get some experience with driving and working on cars, then get it driftable. As of now it's got an exhaust system with a horrible oval tip I'll be getting rid of, it's got extractors and some king springs. I pick up a webber for it in a week or so too. It's got some 'Champion' mags or something on it, they'll be going when I find something better but it's not urgent right now.

Never realised it had such a small engine...if anyone can see a disconnected idle cutoff solenoid in there, let me know because right now it doesn't idle http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Fairly nice interior, carpet's a bit shagged in spots but it'll do. Dunno what wheel it is but I like it.

Two examples of the horrible exhaust tip.

And of course, no car is complete with out the random Japanese sticker...dunno where he got this from.

Thanks guys.

Also, that 'panda' scheme as the last owner called it wasn't my idea. I think it looks alright except for the black strips on the back but I'm not really interested in doing anything about it right now.

Love the 2 tone, it looks awesome http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/2thumbs.gif

The idle cutoff circuite - well, for wiring terms, it looks like its connected.. see the green connection under the airfilter? thats the electrical side to it. It looks connected from here?

Cant wait to see ure car on the cruise http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

^^double what they said, that exhaust tip needs to see_the rubbish tip http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

I was wondering why I couldn't find any other disconnected wire. There is a disconnected wire down between the battery and strut tower (a red, white and green one) but I can't see anything it could connect to. It must be the fuel solenoid like Medicine Man suggested. Now I have to work that out http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/blink.gif

Hehe, well that explains it.

Mods to come at the moment: 1st on the list will probably be ditching the 4 speed for a 5 speed, then I'm not sure if I want to keep working on this or get a Sprinter later on.

EDIT: First on the list is replacing these badboys:

Hehe, both of them are completely rotted through, yet they still sound way better than my mates brand new Sony set up.

Looks damn neat man. And the sticker is the drift cat with "foolish person" written after it, I just have the cat, no writing http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Andrew

Too bad I freaking hate the drift cat. Makes me want to take the sticker off. I've got two shanty stickers to balance it out now though. I also put my drift doll on.

Andrew
16th August 2006, 08:17 PM
Well, I guess I should post some pictures up of the new additions.

http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/9805/xr4s1smalllw6.jpg

These pictures were taken by Jesse (ADMskaterboi) on his phone when I bought them off him. The other two don't have tyres yet but I'll take better pictures when they're on.

Right now, the car developed a missfire problem today, I think it's the plugs, apparently I'll need plugs, wires and locator caps but I'll see how it goes. I don't think the clutch is too far off either.

Andrew
28th August 2006, 07:28 PM
FUCKEN! Some wankers broke into my car last night, took my speakers, tried to take my head unit but couldn't get it out apparently, rumaged through my glove box and now there's something stuck in my keyhole.

Luckily, I took my two spare XR4's out on Saturday and the quite large stereo I'm about to get didn't get in any sooner. I'm now planning on clearing room in the garage so I can park it in there and get an alarm. First I need a locksmith to get whatever the faggots used to get in there, out.

The speakers were rotted to the shithouse but that's not the point. That's my shit, nobody fucking elses. Stay the fuck out of my car damnit.

Get both door locks re-keyed at the same time.

*This reminds me to do my passenger side too*

Andrew

driftke70
29th August 2006, 11:03 AM
yeah people suck, everyone i know calls me a racist, but im not, i just hate all people

just make a cheep ass security system your self, ie wire up a fucken noisy dick smith horn to the little rubber swtiches on your doors that trigger the interior light, so if someone open one of your doors it goes off, i think the cx also has them on the boot, then just put a switch underneath one of your wheel arches or something or one under your front and back bumpers so when you walk past either the front or back of your car to get it you just flick it,

Andrew
29th August 2006, 10:21 PM
That's a pretty damn good idea. Too bad I'm way to shit at stuff like that.

R1CHYY
29th August 2006, 10:48 PM
man, feel for ya! ive heard the coast is pritty bad for stolen cars... this shit always gets me worried!

Ive heard solex locks arnt that much harder to open for someone who mildly knows what they are doing? anyone got details?

Andrew
29th August 2006, 11:06 PM
I don't think they were interested in my car, I'd say they were just punk teens after money. They went through my neighbours car but she didn't have anything of any value in there.

Jokes on them, my speakers were rotted completely through, they can't get squat for 'em.

R1CHYY
29th August 2006, 11:09 PM
yeah fair enough, lucky they were shit speakers then...i think i would cry if someone stole my car lol http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif i would expect to hear it if they did try rack it though, unless it doesnt work like that..

stahlz_ae86
6th September 2006, 02:34 AM
Dad used to work at a locksmith a few years ago, and he recons the guys there hated solex locks. Doesn't really matter what locks you have on these model rolla's you can get in without even using the lock part.

Andrew
6th September 2006, 05:46 PM
Yeah, I'm just getting whatever's still in my lock out and I'll leave it at that. I can't be bothered really.

Not much progress has been made of late, had QCS today and yesterday so I just spent the afternoons painting the bumpers and grill with mates and getting that damn Toyota sticker off. I'll get pictures up when I get the camera off a mate. Still haven't gotten tyres for the other XR4's either.

Andrew
27th October 2006, 04:35 PM
After months of sitting on my arse, I finally got tyres for my other two XR4's and I'm pretty damn glad I did, I think it looks A LOT better.

Haven't updated this in a while but to be honest, there isn't much to update. Have a shiny new water pump because the old one shat itself on christmas day. Put bonnet spacers in because I was ultimo-bored. Just enjoying driving right now, got my license a month ago so I'm just having fun, could do with some power though.

Took two photos today, figured I'd post 'em. Most of my photos seem to turn out the same, I'm not too artsy.

Looking good man!
Whats are your plans now?

Andrew
4th January 2007, 03:53 PM
Most likely suspension first. AJPS coilovers on the front, sierra shocks/falcon springs in the back is the main plan right now, still lookin' around though. I want to to put a 16 valve in with webbers but I'm going to hunt around for an AE71 parts car first, there's just too much shit to try find.

I'd like to paint it, deep chin spoiler and stuff too but I need more practice before I make it pretty and wreck it.

breno
4th January 2007, 04:03 PM
Sounds good, if ur interested i have a pretty much brand new pair for seirra shocks, used them for like 100k if that but they were too short for my rear springs.

Andrew
4th January 2007, 04:08 PM
Sounds tempting, how much would you be after?

breno
4th January 2007, 05:38 PM
Around $50
