wen im sellin engines people ask me this what are they refering to please help

Afaik a short motor is just the bare engine, no ancillaries, loom, ecu etc. A long motor will generally include all these things.

Right.
Well the right meaning is refering to the engine.
A long motor is the block and head, no water pump, filters, ect..
A short motor is just the block, pistons, rings, pan and crank.
