do you want good ones or cheap ones?

for the rear HQ/whatever holden ute shocks are fairly cheap and pretty good if you are after a budget setup, a mate of mine runs them with 4kg/mm springs and they seem to do the job pretty well.

as for the rest

SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH SEARCHJ

and use google too.

ive said a thousand times and it looks like ill say it again,
pedders xtreme, suzuki siera front shocks are by far the firmest/shortest shocks for the rear of 86's. actually almost to firm if your after a street setup.

CAPSLOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL

what about ohlins? penske? there is loads of stuff better than billies - all of which will be overkill on a sprinkler.

You and i both know you want my Tokicos http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Tokico HTS 102s if you can still get a hold of them. I managed to source a set just recently. I've never heard anyone say a bad word about them.

45aken, have you found rear AGXs for much less than that?

i haven;t yet, funny thing is the rears are more expensive than the fronts!

agx are around 950 for a full set.

DRFT - 86
25th July 2006, 07:35 PM

The fronts are more expensive to my knowledge as they are advertised for 500+ or so on daves site and the rears are 450 rears are 8 way adjustable fronts are 4way

TRD shocks are rebadged KYBs. I'm unsure if they have different valving or not though. TRD used to also use rebadged Tokicos but they're no longer in production as 45aken said.

as above ^^

from what i figured,
front: ae92

rear: holden HT monaro
holden HQ ute

or kyb, excel-g non ajustable or agx ajustable...

i have a question of my own, im thinking that some short strokes would be best for cut springs.. would some new holden ones be the go, like some cheap ones from supercheap?? would they be as stiff/short as standard.

can probaly get some free old holden shocks as i live in bogan ville and there are plenty of wrecked holdens at my grand perants place.. might see if they are any good next time i go out there..

If you get KYB AGX shocks from the states, you use SW20 MR2 Rear Shocks (765016) on with shortened struts on the front and Camaro Rears (734019) on the back.
UPDATE
For non-adjustable Excel-Gs, the part numbers are SW20 Rear (365100) and Camaro Rears (343211), you can probably get these in australia pretty easy.

does anyone know if the same setup for the front of a sprinter will aply to an rt142 corona? i know the struts are the same as rwd celica. are there any shocks from like a falcon or something that will fit in the front?
