View Full Version : Removing broken bolts from the block

This is fairly obvious but just thought id throw it up here.
When mounting up my slave cylinder after the gearbox swap i decided to take some frustration out on the bolts, bad idea.

Luckly the break wasn't clean so the bolt had sheared off from the head and remained in the block.
Solution:
Whip out some wd40 or any spray lube and grease the puppy up good.

Then use a small screwdriver or centrepunch and mallet to hit the shards in an anti-clock wise direction. At first ur gonna have to belt the shit out of it, as itll be tighter than a nuns... But once its moving light taps will safice.

Once you have made a few revolutions their should be enough exposed thread to use ur favourite pair of multi-grips to finish to job.

This is alot cleaner then drilling it out.
But a pain in the arse. Good work.
