View Full Version : Rear coilover mounts

hey im looking for pictures to go by and any information on putting in rear coils. i know somebody on this forum had a picture of his custom rear coil mounts in the members rides section but iv forgotten who that was so if anyone can point me in that direction that'd be great. also any other pictures of how u'v strenthened the mount to the diff anything would be helpful thanx

hey bill just wondering did you have to reinforce the top shock mounts in anyway at all, to cope with the extra force put on to the top mounts by the springs as well.

do you fint the rear bottoms out much? i sawed the first segement off my bumpstops with a woodsaw, think i'll shorten them some more for my HTS102s.

Nope, they're fine. But if you fee like getting in there to to some MIG'ing go right ahead.

Nope, the rear springs are about 280 lb/inch, so pretty stiff.

I have a wreck which has 1 rear strut tower completely punched out from a conversion like this. I have a car in bare metal at present ,and there are quite a a few spot welds around that plate, plus it is 3 layer. I guess it all depends how well it was welded at the factory and if there is any rust. Obviosuly , it was never designed to take such loadings, but some must take it OK.
