il get some pictures soon, but for now, here is a video of my first track day with it and some clips of my ghetto 4k streeter. :DD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OocoZlmCTgA

keep in mind its my first track day ever, and with an unset up car, it wasnt the best effort.

more vid footage after the 20th drift school at lala.

i was out there in my rolla

lumpye7
3rd December 2009, 10:03 PM
yea, i made it out there. it was painetd black for that.

it was a awsome day! only had some small wiring issues.

how did you go?

the car is getting a massive re work atm.

im in the process of finishing the microtech wiring loom for the lt10 and x4 ignitor, i got a full cage with harness bar, roof brace, and side intrusion.

a nardi classic with a d1 spec snap off hub, momo 4 point harness, hoping to get a alloy sheet metal dash, and falcon or mondeo fans, to try to fix a overheating problem.

gonna mount my fuel tank so the top is level with the boot floor, to try to get a bit better center of gravity, and re do all my fuel lines. as the dumb as behind the counter sold me hose that isnt suited for fuel to be in it constantly. sothey have all gone hard. gotta love the industry profesionals these days..:shout:

enjoy. and hope to see some people out there!

i went out to the last practice for the year and had an absolute ball with
holly(thats what we named it. look on jays site youll see it in the back window)
so we got a bit of a brake till the next one so im repairing the rear wheel arches they all seem to rust there and have got some corona front struts to rebuild and put in and ive got some corona lca,s to go in too and a rack spacer to put in.
hopefully ill be gettin a harness too for mine.
with yours look for an au falcon thermo fan or themondeo one of heard fits.
would like a roll cage for mine but i can onlyafford to do a bit at a time.
thought of puttin in a commy radiator there fairleasy to set up to fit.
all ive got in mine is a commy rad and a 14inch thermo fan.
leant a lot at school and startin to pull off some nice big drifts just need to work on....
gettin it side ways before the corner like the 4 door 32 does but hey ive only been out 4 times

yea man, it all takes time. iv been building myne for over 2 years now. lol

the d school was only my second time out.. i did pretty good i recon, i pulled some really good clean runs i think. but iv spent alot of time on the str....private tracks:DD

its all practice man! and do as much to your car yourself as possible! then if anything breaks, u know how to fix it. :P

good luck man!u look to be doing well, so ur on the right track.

i like your hydro handbrake setup
startin to get onetogether for mine.
should have it in by next practice.
looks like an awesome build.
hopefully see you next practice?

lumpye7
4th December 2009, 09:24 AM
yea, it works awsome, but im changing it now, making a complete new one, so it runs between the shifter and my seat, itl poke up above the side bolster and stick out past the front of the seat, as i want to set up a passenger seat in it soon.

na, probibly not the next practice man.. 2 hours of drift just doesnt seem worth the 8 hour + round trip to get to lala for me. il ether be at the second G1 round entering, or the next drift school tho!

heres a vid of some random people and the boys from whyalla from last drift school. look out for the black thrashworks rolla (me) the black 1via, the blue/grey silvia, he had afew problems on the day tho, so fk all footage of him.. and the white r33 4 door, all from whyalla, all thrashworks built cars..

enjoy.

but i will defiantly be there for round 2. its gonna be awsome.

hopefully will have my mate brendan out there too with his project (hasnt started yet) 1uzfe ke. his build thread is on here.

will be a awsome d train if we could get all of them out there at once.

lumpye7
16th December 2009, 12:44 AM
holy crap.. thats nuts!! are they runnin a 25-30 neo now? he was talkin of that not long ago.. will be sweet to see this thing in action.

well.. a little update i guess....

got wiring loom halfway done, and the lt10 injector, tps and water temp loom is finished.. just waiting on the X4 to arrive from jazmac so i can do the crank angle and coils.
got a new harness, momo 4 point. feel safer now.. :P
moving my handbrake between drivers seat and shifter, so i have room for a passenger seat.
mounting my intercooler up and closer to the radiator, so shouldnt have any issues of cooling now, and i got a 15 row oil cooler.
placed an order for a full sheetmetal alloy dash. just got to sorce some decent guages up now and will be ready for final fitment and wire up.

got a new s13 gearbox for the beast, so il actually be able to shift back to second from third, there is no sinchro left at all on second, and the third gear is startin to crunch..lol
just too rough with it haha so motor out soon, new box in, and gonna do some more spot welding on the chassis.

and whyle motor is out, conna cut and shut my xmember, and move my steering rack forward and possibly up, to combat bind and bump steer.

enjoy!

slowly getting there with the car prep for this year.. running abit late, wont make it to February g1, but eh.. u get that.

re-made my handbrake mount, looks a lot neater, and is in a much better spot now and the handle actually moves when u pull it, the other one barely moved at all.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/9/9/1/34309.jpg

fitted the old stock passenger seat and belt.. taking my mum for a sponser lap if i enter g1. haha shes gonna shit it!

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/9/9/1/34310.jpg

got a new panel that is for all the electrical shit.. make it alot neater. and have it all in the one spot. so make trouble shooting easy if something goes wrong.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/9/9/1/34311.jpg

and found a set of eb falcon fans at the local wrecker for the grand sum of free. stoked! hopefully these will fix my overheating problems... :unseen:

lumpye7
14th January 2010, 07:15 PM
yea, it is overboard. lol they came in a pack of ten with mounts, so what i dont use il palm off to ma mate brendan for his rolla build. but im sick of havin electrical problems with it. drift school kept havin fuel pump problems, and was getting headlights blowing out an shit. so doin it all properly.

u goin out to g1?

slowley doing bit by bit when i get a chance to.

wiring all finished, apart from a missing crank angle sensor loom from microtech.

made a simple little box for the wiper, indicator and headlight switches, and made a mount for my new ignition barrel, some minimalist security.

the boot floor is out again.. cut the x brace out. making a square out of rhs tube to go in the gap of whats left of the x brace and a frame that drops down to the same level as the stock tank, and the fuel cell is going to be mounted nice and low, and got afew fancy things liek a inline speedflow fuel filter. just worried about my 044 being able to suck the fuel up..might have to mount the lift one down under the car... will have to wait and see!

You should use twin vl pumps. All the pros are. Hahaha. As if an 044 wouldn't supply that surge tank? I think it should be fine man. You over engineer everything haha.

Take a page out of my book. It'll be fine, don't worry haha.

I'll be home Sunday man. So I wanna get my 1uz outta the cut, getthe adapter plate then I'm gonna take my box to adelaide. U keen for a road trip? Need to get this slut sorted :-)

lumpye7
28th January 2010, 06:23 PM
ahh, i kno it will supply the surge tank.. im worried about it sucking the fuel up from the tank, cos the pump will be sitting higher than the fuel. altho.. ur vl pump was set up like that ay?

yea mabey man.. iv got 2 roster days during the week too.. so il be keen for a trip! lol

will have to get the crane from shaun again.

Brendan
28th January 2010, 07:08 PM
Yeah both pumps were above the tank bro.

Sweet. Yeah up and back in 2 days should do it. Depends how long ACS takes with the clutch :-)

i seem to have no spark with my microtech set up.

it ran fine with the stock computer but now i have no spark. im running a lt 10s with the x4 ignitor, stock sr coils everything is wired up as per microtech diagram, orange cas light flashing when cranking, no warning lights, map sensor feed. im running out of ideas... coils have power feed, seprate common earth, microtech and x4 is earthed properly.

anyone have any ideas? im stumped.. about ready to put the stock computer back in..:shout:

well, still havent heard it run yet, but all coils are sparking, and everything else seems to be working.

heres some updates on the rest of the car.

fuel pumps and surge tank are mounted on a plate thats rubber mounted to the body.. try to get the volume down a little...

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/9/9/1/42869.jpg

rear guards are finished, dihatsu charade front guards chopped and welded onto the body.. still a litttle dodgy but eh.

new unmolested gearbox fitted and ready to be destroyed haha
