is it just the camera angle / me or is it yet to be lowered?

grassworkzgarage
8th September 2006, 08:07 PM
its not lowered fully in the front but maybe its the angle of pic? but i do know it cause the rears dont have bolt on flares yet so want ive done is bash the livin hell out gaurd, upwards so its higher than the stock gaurds so the tires dont rub so maybe thats the gap that makes it look higher

front coilovers????

are they complete or is the threaded section just sitting over the strut tube and bottoming out on the original spring perch?

i only ask as all coilover conversions i've seen lose the spring perch shorten the strut then weld on the treaded sleeve.

just curious as to why you didn't go down that route. or whether they are iin fact finished or just being dummied up or whatever.

pop rivets have similar effect to seam welding....but over time the rivets work loose and need to be redone....read the write up in the tech section

why not do it??

the car has been completely seam welded, the struts are done, why not weld a strut brace on aswell...

a weld is always goin to give less flex than a couple bolts

grassworkzgarage
19th July 2007, 05:20 PM
by welding them on I can weld the seams of the towers together also adds 4mm more or so thickness to the top of the towers I.e. making it more stronger

The car itself is still basically the same still requiring wiring, ignition and tuning etc. I should know, as it hidden in my garage.

the twin peirburge race fuel pumps are fuking insanly loud buzz'n noise that is hopfully drowned out by the scream engine when it starts. i also picked up a braided line with a banjo fitting from mmsport for my slave cylinder & a themostat. all that is left now is my water setup which needs a bit of custom piping thats getting welded up & a block off plate at the back of my head (no heater) and a MSD 6al is in the line up as we speak so fingers crossed it may be alive in a less than a months time

r do u mean the rear side bits under the rear bar cause if ya do then yeah your right i will be cutting them off its just that i have to weld in my new rear floor with my 30L fuel cell centered and lowered so the rear of the car doesnt fall out of wack cause there aint much holding the front or rear together
