well ive had this for about a week now, and im bored so i decided to make a thread.
i picked this up from E V A N last friday, and done a little bit since bringing it home. and if your wondering, yes the glitter is cool, and yes the chicks do dig it (thats a lie).
heres some pics, some of how i got it after a quick clean up, and some of how it is today. i dont really want to do anything major to it until i get the rego sorted and things like that.

meadan
28th October 2006, 07:50 PM
lol it is quite a bit of glitter isnt it, i think it looks ok almost prismatic from a few meters away.
i dont have any hektic dr1ft mods planned yet, i just want to drive it and get it into a cleaner condition for now. plus its too shiny to be any kind of drift pig, so itll just be slow and glittery for a while. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Nah I reckon pimp it up with some pink fluffy stuff on the dash, leopard skin seat covers, a bling bling gear stick and some chromey wheels and big exhaust. Then spray the engine purple and write 4AGTE on it but dont actually mod it.

Nah but serioulsy I reckon it could be a cool car when its cleaned up a bit. Something different.

well time for a bit of an update.
im looking for some wheels, because my mum offered to pay half.
but i cleaned a bit more up, getting ready for rego still. i should be chucking a cannon on this week sometime, because i decided the police might not appreciate the raw hardcore sound of the 4ac with no muffler. plus its shiny so itll look all blingy until i get the exhaust redone.
i also did other stuff, but cbf typing it all now http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

haha, no chance of buying it.
its the stock ae71 cluster with a few t18 guages, and the temp guage moved to suit. took a nights work to do, but looks heaps better.
i have no clear cover though, cause the original one was crap and i cracked it by acident.
front lip will be coming soonigh too, as well as cannon and hopefully wheels when i find some.

i have many dreams that i buy a keto wagon spend a weekend cleaning her up and painting it and the next weekend trasnfering all my goodies into it, and rear end out of the sedan, looks like she is coming along alright

meadan
12th November 2006, 09:48 PM
home made front lip of course http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
cut from the bottom of a spare ae82 front bar i had laying around, it seems to fit ok, jsut needs some trimming, painting and filling of holes. hopefully itll look ok.
driftke70, if only you had dreams about doing that to my wagon http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

and thanks evan, i actually like the colour still, a few people i know tend to disagree for some reason though (glitter or something) http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
i should have dodgey cannon and chopped rear bumper installed by the weekend, then i might finally go for the blueslip if its any quieter

ive done a bit since i last updated.
i failed a blueslip inspection, which should be fixed on monday or tuesday.
all i needed to do was paint the diff and tailshaftand get rid of the surface rust, and also change the exhaust. he also wants the steering rack boots changed, so ill let the mechanic do that for me.
yay i should have rego this week or next week latest.....finally!
heres some pics for now. ill do a massif update once its on the road.

time for a bit of a new years update. ill make it short and quick.
Things ive done:
-front lip
-oil breather which doesnt fly off
-blinged interior
-blinged back seat and boot kinda
-blinged window and glovebox
-added guages, oil pressure not working yet
I cant get the oil pressure sender into the block because the alternator mount is in the way. Its not really necessary on the 4ac, but has anyone done it before??

Things to do
-lowering blocks in the rear
-lower springs in the front with probably new shocks all round
-2 inch exhaust from the crossover pipe back
-skinnier tires on the current wheels to stop scraping (im thinking 175s on the rear and 185s on the front)
-probly going to change headlights to quad stylez http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/ohmy.gif
-more random stickers
-maybe a weber
-save up for 4age

haha thanks evan

ive ordered some 2.5" blocks for the ass already. and im saving up for some proper front suspension.
the only problem is that il need to get some skinnier tires put on, im thinking of swapping the 195s for 175s at the rear and 185s at the front.

5th January 2007, 01:40 PM
Don't be silly
No need to.

meadan
5th January 2007, 01:44 PM
the front tires are actually sitting outside of the guards at the moment, and the rear is just inline.
ill see what happens when its lowered, cause in theory the blocks should sit the gaurds on the rear tires

E V A N
5th January 2007, 01:52 PM
roll the guards lightly

meadan
5th January 2007, 02:04 PM
yeah the front i can.
but im not sure if bog will appreciate the rolling in the back.
i think the car wants a new engine before new tires anyways, the 4ac cant handle the grip http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

meadan
20th January 2007, 02:48 PM
ok im getting there evan http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
got some lowering blocks cause they were cheap and easy to install, it looks heaps ghetto now with the stockies on the back. i think its almost too low, but ill see when i get the front done.
also, i know everyone is going for the quad lights look on their ke70's, but i thought ill go for square ones with an ae71 front. kind of carina (?) style recessed a bit into the grille. it should look good...

Stuff done:
lowering blocks
new rear shocks
astro boy sticker http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Stuff to do soon:
install weber (when it arrives)
roll rear guards and make the mags fit again
install headlights and other pieces i bought
clean it one day
slide it around some more while the stockies are on the back http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

now use your skillzors to make a hektik custom grille to incormorate those lights, you really need a ke bonnet now damn, but the paint lol matt black ftw lol

Anyways looks the good adan, certantly different.

i bet people look at you funny when you drive down the street in that with the uleh angles cause of the blocks and the lights and stuff lol.

Course_Out
20th January 2007, 09:52 PM
I may or may not steal that headlight idea....looks different, maybe cut the bonnet to suit the lights or something? i dunno if a ke bonnet would fit with ae71 guards?

Looking tops mate.

E V A N
20th January 2007, 10:26 PM
Lights need full black plastic surrounds.

Gilly
20th January 2007, 10:53 PM
^^^ WORD

and a KE bonnet, AE bonnets have recesses for the taller headlights...

meadan
20th January 2007, 11:01 PM
yeah i definately need something around those headlights, but the wreckers didnt have any surrounds or grilles which fit.

i was thinking about a ke bonnet, because i got bird crap which stained my bonnet anyways, it would have to be black though because i refuse to paint my own glitter http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
im thinking about making some aluminium surrounds for the headlights and painting them black, unless i find something else which alreadu fits....the lights need to be moved up a bit though...

but im pleased for one afternoons work, and they work at night so i cant complain

driftke70
21st January 2007, 12:53 PM
ke fronts are just so bad ass

meadan
21st January 2007, 03:46 PM
i thought about a ke front
but then it would mean the front is mismatched because i dont want to get anything repainted in glitter colour...also, everyone has one with twin lights, so i thought with a bit of work i can get it looking ok recessed into the ae front.

weber will arrive this week too!

paint the whole car again then! Glitter looks ghey >=[

Lmao joking.

Goodluck with it.

Maybe those old school celicas have a sorta backing for those lights that might fit in.

The really curved ass celica..

meadan
21st January 2007, 09:02 PM
haha yeah glitter is rather ghey....im waiting till i get one panel damaged for an excuse to paint the whole thing http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

yeah ive thought about those celicas, the headlights look exactly the same actually...i might see if i can get a grille from one of them..

boo for leaking coolant and needing to refill at 6:30 in the morning. but now ill do a proper coolant flush so it should work better in this crazy heat now.[s]

How much better does the car go with the weber?
Noticeably? like.....much? lol

meadan
12th February 2007, 05:04 PM
well i think the increase is noticeable. though i was used to driving a stock 4ac so that doesnt mean that it would have been much of an increase necessarily http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
it runs better than it did with the stock carbie, and it sounds pretty good at full throttle, so id say its a worthwhile upgrade.
hopefully ill get a tad more power once i get the exhaust replaced.

meadan
6th March 2007, 07:14 PM
bit of a small update.
its been crap weather so i dont have any fantastic photos to share.
but recently theres been a bit of action with the wagon. i popped one of the tires while (driving normally http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/rolleyes.gif ) going around a corner. the tire shred into two pieces and left me stuck in the middle of the road facing the wrong way. i just changed the wheel and left it for the night. i decided to get the mags put back on so i got some 175s put onto them....feel much better than the crap stockies.
also i found some exhaust laying around at work so i put a bent exhaust tip on, it also made the car sound a bit less like a tractor, so ill say it was an improvement.
next comes radiator, waterpump, locked diff, and then front suspension finally...

yeah home made exhaust tips are the best.
the car doesnt seem to like it though, because the clamp holding the muffler on keep coming undone so the muffler keeps half falling off. im thinking this can only mean one thing
i need to cut the rest of my pipe and just take the stupid muffler out and replace it with some 2.5" pipe http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif

sounds like a tractor without the rear muffler, plus its way too loud for my liking
but "in the interest of safety" i had to take it off because it wouldnt stay connected so it was only held on by the rubber things.
reweld the mounts in a better spot tomorrow....

Ive just been driving lately, im going overseas for a few weeks, so i had to stop spending money on my car...
