Heyas,

I'm chasing a set of drum brakes that can replace my current AE86 T series diff disc brake setup. I've heard 2nd hand information that apparently the S series diff drum brakes should slot right on, but if anyone can confirm that'd be sweet.

In anycase, I'll be more than happy to give it a go so if anyone in Perth wants to get rid of the drum brakes off their old AE86 diff, along with the cables that run to the handbrake itself, please let me know.

I dont think S series drum brakes fit the T series diff.

From what I have read, the drums on the T series are different from the S series. But dont quote me on that...I'm only taking my info from reading that part numbers for the drums are different.

Also, got any pics of ya car? Post it up in the "Post a pic of your AE86" in the WA section http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

I'm guessing the drums should bolt on , only difference i noticed was T18 drums i had were bigger than my S series drums (sorry i'd give you the drums but i chuked them in the hills somewhere) . And just wondering why do you want to convert back to drums ???

Prolly the lockup factor me thinks, cus as we know, drums work better to lock up than the disc apparently.

Also, I'll be going through my disc conversion in a couple weeks, so I'll have a spare S series when I'm done.

I'm primarily going back to drums to get my handbrake working cos I'm trying to get the yellow sticker off my car atm.

The handbrake cables coming off my calipers were chopped, and I havnt been able to source a replacement set of cables.

I figured there'd be a lot more S/T series drums with handbrake cables lying around which I could pick up quickly. The extra lock is a very nice fringe benefit tho http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/2thumbs.gif

Also I'm chasing the cable that runs to the handbrake unit itself.

Berserker - I havnt got any recent pics of my car, but I'll post some up when I get a chance. If you could hang on to the drums off that S series mate that'd be much appreciated.

Cheers fellas,
-Dava

I might be taking Beserkers diff as mine is very rooted, but once i rip mine out, you are welcome to have the drums and handbrake cables. Ill take them off for you and get them ready. Its just a matter of when Beserker gets his Calipers for his Disc brake rear end.

Upgarage, my yellow sticker expired at 5pm today (I've already had 3 extensions and I cbfed going back for another).

You'd be helping me out of one helluva bind if I could grab those cables off you mate.
