View Full Version : VIC - Rolling Shell and Aftermarket Goodies - SOLD

funkymonkey
19th March 2007, 12:20 PM
Shell and all aftermarket items sold, except numberplates, grilles and rims
Aussie Sprinter Shell. Comes with interior, but not attached to car.

Interior and engine bay has been dismantled (all parts still in car) for sandblasting and race prep, but never was completed due to other more important (and costly... hence the sale) projects getting priority... namely my widebody R32 and a Sky80 track car (R32 front, 180sx rear).

Shell comes with:
JDM tyte driver side headlight and mirror (passenger side is AUDM) ... don't ask me why :P
rear disc brakes, T18 diff (?), king springs and munroe shocks... not sure what rear end its got... could be an adapted AUDM one or a japanese one... its not stock, that's for sure.
all mirrors, windows and glass intact
does not have engine and gearbox or radiator, also missing rear seat and passenger seat
has minor rust, not as bad as most of the other AE86's I've seen
has full owner history and original purchase reciepts and logs from 1983 (I found it a novelty item)
shell has done about 400,000 kms
shell was painted by previous owner in black ghetto spray paint, and is chipping off to reveal the original blue colour
all panels are included including front bumper and stock fenders

VIN: AE86-0004804
Series: 00
Date: Jun/1983

uhhh jeez... I'll have to dig up the bills to figure out how much they cost.

I'll tentatively say $600 for the cage and $600 for the LSD

fark me you guys are quick. Got 2 inspections lined up now

to be honest I can't remember, I bought it a couple of years ago and its sat on the shelf since.

From memory it suited the diff housing I had... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif If you can tell me how to identify it visually I'll let you know what it is.

Actually after some thinking... I thought the Axles were the only thing different between kooky and zonky JDM tyte models. I didn't know the LSD's were different too... but I'm no pundit on hachirusto's so if you can tell me how to identify it, then I'll let you know.

I've got a couple of guys keen on it at $1200 if the condition is acceptable, so they're coming to check it out. Feel free to have a look at it... there's rust, the whole battery support needs to be replaced because an acid leak's corroded it, there's rust bubbling through where the water collects near the window sills, and the rad support might need to be replaced, but other than that it seems to be OK. The idea was to sandblast the shell and then weld up the holes, seam weld it and make it toight for track use... I never had any intentions of putting it back on the road. However I think it is doable. Please check it out and make your own decision.

Quick update... the Hasemi Sport rims up for sale are actually off a 180sx, so the offset should be suitable for 180sx's, S13's and R32's and cefs. You'll need spacers to put em onto a hachirusto. The reason I bought these is because they are a 3 piece rim, so a custom width or offset can be made up in the future if necessary, simply by having inner and/or ourter bands machined up.

I'll part with em for $300 pickup

this thing still for sale?

funkymonkey
20th March 2007, 02:36 PM
Yeah still for sale... still waiting for people to inspect it etc.

Today's probably not a good day to come check it out tho as I won't be at the workshop.

As I updated on nissansilvia....
I'll let the cage and diff go for $1150 (or $600 each if you want them seperately)

The diff is for a T series centre, as the AE86 shell has a japanese diff and rear axle swap already done on it (hance the disc brakes). It came out of an early model AE86. (hopefully that answers if its a kooky or zonky diff http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif).

Oh I've also got 4L of yellow paint http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif If anyone wants to paint the car http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

For the grilles, $150 for the one with a crack (crack is where the foglight sits, I was gonne cut a hole there to increase airflow anyways, so it wasn't an issue for me)

one without a crack I'll let go for $200

stinger_007
20th March 2007, 05:05 PM
Pic of Crack?

(Not yours.......the grill) lol

can it been seen fron the front, or is it on the side?

Cheers

funkymonkey
20th March 2007, 06:29 PM
rofl... you're so lucky you put that bit in.

The crack is on the clear bit of the plastic on the front, from the top passenger side corner towards the centre, about 1 inch long. I was gonna cut two holes where the foglights go behind the letterbox grilles, to help with airflow... the holes I cut would have covered the crack completely. I'll grab a pic of it in the morning.

Car's still for sale due to timewasting. we're clearing up the shop, so the car's been relocated to my house. So naturally, inspections by appointment only.

I'll drop another $100 off the asking price (that makes it $1100) if it'll help sell it quicker. I'll also throw in a free tow to any Melbourne suburbs in the north (around thommo etc), west (around sunshine) and south east (glenny, dandy etc) on a super fun happy driftline truck.

uhh dunno what the point of PM'ing is... $1100? I don't think you'll get a shell anywhere else for that price which includes the rear axle upgrade.

Now that the shell's at my house, and I've paid for most of the other cars, I don't really need to sell it... so if you guys can't match the price being asked, I'll just hold onto it. Maybe I'll start working on it again, get rid of the rust and put it on the road for my mum to use or something.

Oh and LSD was sold a long time ago... please read the thread for updates.

shell is still for sale... goddamn time wasters and lack of free time/motivation to make a sale happen.

I'll knock the price down to $1000. Has the rear end conversion already done, should save you $400 or so.

I need this gone by the end of the month so that I can put my S14 track car into the garage. Can organise a tow to anywhere in the SE burbs or around Campbellfield.

i just wanna get rid of it so I have some garage space for other cars. Basically selling it at cost.

Just a quick update... the shell can be inspected from tuesday. Unfortunately I'll have to retract my offer of a free tow as the truck is going to be out of commission with a fucked winch. You'll have to organise your own towy or bring a car trailer. The shell's pretty light... I'd say about 900kg max.

use.zipties.nuff.said.

I don't know... afaik there's no difference between mounts on the headlights... I've got a JDM headlight on my driver side and a AUDM one on the passenger side, and as far as I can see they look identical as far as mounts are concerned.
