OK, I'm sure its been done before but who's the best people to see in brisbane regarding all things ae86 related?? Recently acquired my first sprinter and need to know who to trust. All advice appreciated. Maybe you consider yourself somewhat of an expert and may be looking for some cash work in the near future?? PM or Post please. Thanks Crispi.

just so you know

there is absolutely nothing special about the ae86/ke70, its a 25yr old corolla.

they are one of the easiest cars to work on, and have nothing specialised about them (in stock form that is)

any workshop will love you for coming in, as they can charge you money, for working on an easy car.

if you are just after a basic mechanic so long as you dont go to a dodgy backyard mechanic you will be fine to go to any that look pretty decent.

i dont go to a mechanic, but when i get stuff machined i go to : John Harper Auto Services Address - 23 Thorne Street, Wynnum, 4178.

they have a workshop and a extremely decent machining/engine shop.

they do a great job and they are family friends.

i worked there for a bit back in high school, very clean place and organised.

there are various performance shops, but in most cases your just wasting your money as they charge more. unless you need something performace related done (engine tuning, performance parts installing) but like i said these cars are very simple.

good luck

Crossley Street & Race Engineering seem to do some pretty good work. I know of at least 3 people who have had work done through them (engine conversions, upgrading stuff etc.) and the quality of their work is pretty good. They've built a few tough Corollas in the past so I guess they'd know their way around your car.

yeah had a mate did his apprenticeship through crossley. they have a great work ethic and know their way around a car.

kaizin is the man for fun stuff that people dont want to touch, BUT can be a bit hard to get onto and also i think is winding down things so that may be no use to you :)

mainly depends what you want to achieve..... mad build or text book servicing?
