just waiting on the AJPS front springs and it will be back on the road.

*Looking for some camber tops that will fit Series 1 struts???????

*Will be fitting a locked 4.1 in the next month or so and getting the extractors and a custom 2" exhaust built and fitted.

*Have just rebuilt some Solex 40mm carbs that will go on after the engine rebuild.

*Got a quote on a engine rebuild, quote from Motor Improvemnts in Melbourne ( my granfathers company ) will be about $2500 for complete rebuild basically cost of parts. Nice Lumpy Cam, Forged Pistons and Con Rods.

Thanks to JHS for continuing to help me out with all my noob questions. Legend

Hopefully can get some pics up soon when i get a camera, i have one but i cant put it up for some reason.

hey mate,

have you converted it to rack and pinion steering? if not, you have unlimited lock, just grind/ajust the lock stops on the lca's.

Nah not yet and dont think i will be in the near future. Im getting some xt130 LCA's soon. I dont need extra lock at the moment as my fronts already hit the guards lol but i do have power steering arms and want extra lock just got to add some castor so the fronts clear.

If its a spec one mate, they dont fit. I have tried :(

T18's require a fair bit wider brace.

I can make one for us in the next fortnight if you want? Cromo construction pimp as, pm me.

Photos are still required.

Not sure you're gonna find cambertops to suit the S1 strut top, probably easiest option is to get AE86 ones and redrill the strut top mount holes.

Exactly!

Any minor minor rigidity losses thanks to the redrilled tops will be instantly gained back / reinforced!

I think i might have misinterperated ( spelling ) something that JHS said to me.

So Cusco ones will fit if i redrill the holes???

Bustin_86
6th December 2007, 02:18 PM

All ae86 ones will.

It wouldn't be the first time.....

But yes, Cusco gear / T3 / Kei office / whateverbrand camber tops to suit an AE86 will fit if you redrill.

What JHS is saying is my problem.

Bustin_86
6th December 2007, 02:29 PM
Hmmmm didnt even think of that problem.

So you need a proper oval camber top? It cant be traingle-ish?

RobertoX
6th December 2007, 02:34 PM
cusco have a low caster camber top for this issue

it is still not exact but by FAR the best

not to mention the BEST quality

stouty
6th December 2007, 02:37 PM
So these TEIN ones will fit???

Bustin_86
6th December 2007, 02:39 PM
Pretty sure Tein ones for 86 is the one on the left.

Ie triangleish, ie will not fit.

I might have access to some oval ones, not cusco, bit more expensive to.

If you want the cusco tops though the low castor ones that david is talking baout sounds the go.

RobertoX
6th December 2007, 02:39 PM
you will have to oval hole
