View Full Version : My new KE70 build up!!!

SLO-030

Hey People

This is my new KE70 after the last shell has been written off....

My mate was driving when we hit a cliff with the passenger rear quater. The hit was hard enough to bend both chassis rails at the back and you can see the grab between the drives side rear door and quarter are smaller.

So the new shell will have all the AJPS suspension I had in the old car.

Plans are as follows...

Two tone paint (white roof light lime green bottom)
Full roll cage (main hoop, cross over bars, side intursion, harness mounts etc)
15x8 -9 challengers on the front
15x10 -26 challengers on the back
Bolt on fares all round (something around 50mm wider)
Spirit wing
AJPS front lip
Rose jointed 4 link and pan hard rod
Rose jointed caster rods
Some sort of fixed bucket seat (sparco or alike)

The all the other suspension bits from my other shell
-AJPS 8kg coil overs
-Rose jointed LCA (15mm-35mm over track)
-White line 24mm sway bar (front)
-AJPS rear 6kg springs
-Traction brackets
-White line 18mm sway bar (rear)
-JDM Front 86 brakes
-T18 welded 4.1:1 T Series

Then the new motor will be thrown in....

A 3SGE WITH 20V SILVER TOP QUADS
Most probably something like a mircotech running it.

So stay tuned as work should be happening pretty quickly...

Pics in a few mintues

Hey all

Just a quick update. I ordered some cusco tension rods (caster arms) through AJPS and they should be here in the next month or so....

My 3SGE and quads will be at my place hopefully tomorrow. As soon as it arrives I will update with some pics.

Also picked my the 3Y bellhousing to suit the 3SGE.

Ones all that has arrived work will be slowed down a lot as I need to find a new place to live before anymore work happens

Cheers Craig

how do you adjust the timing with that setup? I can't see any way that it would move

SLO-030
16th July 2007, 03:51 PM
I really dont know. I've only had the motor for about 2hours and havent had a good look at it yet... I wont be using that setup though. I will be going with an aftermarket ECU with coil on top of plug most probably or along those lines.

Just pulled all the bearings off and found that number 3 big end has spun. All other bearings have had shit pass through them.

Number 3 big end isnt really there any more.

Oh well I bought it knowing it had a spun bearing hence the reason I was planing on rebuilding it anyway.

Also to adjust the tuning on the RWD dizzy setup it looks like you move the dizzy cap around as I can't see any other way to adjust it. This setup will be up for sale. An easy way to convert a 3s to RWD.

Got an update people!!!!

Cusco Castor rods

The W58 will be getting a set of new bearings and 2nd and 3rd gear syncros.

In the next few weeks the car will go down to the panel shop and have the chassis checked for rust and make sure its straight. Then hopefully it can get the roll cage made up.

The car will also go a slightly different way now. The quads and high revving n/a will be dropped and a turbo will be added.

I want to be able to make somewhere around the 200-230rwkw.

Hey people

Went to You Pull It today and got some RT104 quad headlights with the brackets and shit. Tomorrow at work ill have a look at what replacements i can get to go to H4 globes instead of the sealed beams. I want to run all 4 as low and high. Probably have something like 100w lows and 130w highs.

Also finally got some time to talk to my boss about what turbo i should run. He gave me two options, GT2876 or GT28RS (disco potato). The GT2876 is rated for 440hp and should have fall boost around 3500rpm or the GT28RS should have full boost around 2500rpm but be resticted to 200-220 rear wheel kilowatt where as the GT2876 can do about 260-280 rear wheel kilowatt.

What are your opinions people?

Dude, its a 900kg car, you dont need any more than around 150rwkw. Disco potato gets my nod, even then that its bordering on stupidity.

Yes that is true but im also thinking that it would crazy fun being able to put my foot down in 5th and have it step out...... LOL

Also being a 2ltr it will have more torque then any 4agte

im too lazy to get a conversion to h4 sorted.....too much looking for parts and shit....

i would rather pay you to do it...works for me...[/b]

I guess that as much. I want something from the narva crystal range. Apprently they are meant to be the be all and end all of replacement lights. Will look into it though.

what bellhousing are you going to use to bolt the W58 up to the 3S?

SLO-030
10th September 2007, 12:09 AM
3y. It puts the starter and clutch on the drivers side.

Its the same thing as JDM and ADm bell housing. The 2s one has both on the passenger side and the clutch hits the exhaust.

Only thing is one hole needs to be drilled and the other rewelded

^^^ what a loser.

Get a disco potato, plenty of power and good throttle response. You dont need 250 kws, you did fine with 4AC Power

i was thinking maybe a celica bellhousing might work.. the SA63 celica, RWD has a 2sc and a W58... being a S series
engine it might bolt up.... that might be something to look into..

Yes what a loser!!!!!! 4AC power is more then 250kws anyway. Thats more like 4000000kws plus 3000000000kws if you have a weber...lol

Read my post again. 2sc is junk....3Y FTW

Also 2sc bell housing needs to be machined down about 10-15mm to allow the input shaft to sit in the spigot bearing

GT28RS, IMO it will be more driveable, and 220kwatw is plenty enough power

The sump is a 2 piece design. The top half is alloy and the the bottom is a press steal one. Im looking into a trust bottom half at work atm as i was looking in our trust book. Only thing is that our supplier doesnt do trust anymore.
