hey all, i have jsut dropped a 4age bigport into my AE71 corolla wagon.\
the manifold is cut and shut, (i dont think it matters anyways) and my original ae71 throttle cable is around 4-5cm too short.
does anyone know what is the best cable to use?
to keep it tidy.
I'd prefer if it was just from an aus car not a jdm genuine one.
thanks all
Kane

KE70 fits but is majorly long and have to loop it around the master cylinder and a few other things.

RT141 and RA65 throttles are a few mm longer then a standard JDM 86 cable. Its just a tight fit to get the bolts in to hold it up against the firewall.

If anyone in Brisbane needs a cable actually made or modified, talk to Advanced Trailers Spares at Coopers Plains. Pretty well priced and good quality work. Few mates have had cable made by them. Thicker handbrake + modified, modified throttle etc..

for bigport 4ag into ae86 cable from an ep91 starlet is the perfect fit. but ke70 does the job and easier to find.

bit tricky to find, just try spares shops, i got mine today tool bout 20mins, cost me $14 from gamac spares in liverpool (he's got everythin) only prob was where the round stay/holdy iny bit that goes to the throttles (blacktop) the hole was too small so i had to rape it with a drill.

you can buy just inners or inner and outer kits inner just bein the wire, and obviously the inner and outer everythin, comes with everythin u need works out alot cheaper than buyin a brandspanker or even second hand rolla one.

So wait what dose it come with, the skin? wire? end bits?, im just about to start on my throttle setup... .bike cables.... though there easy to work with and easy to get the adjustable end bits, espcily with dealing with more than one throttle :S

Gunner
12th November 2007, 10:56 AM
yeh it comes with all that stuff. everything needed to make a single throttle cable, obviously u may have to modify it, but if ur doin ur own conv. u should have more than enough skill to do it

Jason

hmmm interesting.

Also on a side note, dose anybody know where to get the clamp on style cable ends? (IE not like the molded lead ends on stock cables)

rthy
12th November 2007, 05:48 PM

that must of been a painfull leason,

hey I have an idea, I think its time we got a listing of all the cable lengths if there isnt already one out there.

Can you measure your original and ra65 cable from the flange to the very tip of the cable and report back?
