just run a lift pump to a surge tank then a pressure/flow pump to the engine

thats what i did, take care of 2 probs in one, no more fuel surge, and no tryin to fit pumps in the tank

brings a new problem though, if you intend on doing any racing event's you will have to have it boxed off and vented to outside the car

Not trying to get into an argument just saying if I were to do it again i would run an intank surgetank set up, much better in my opinion

yeh, but at extremes a decent seperate surgetank will work best, whether its in the tank or not. A baffled tank is not sealed and at hi gs u may still experience surge. in the end its what u wanna spend, and what u wanna see on ur car.

One solution I've used is to chop the fuel pump mounting "ring" out of the donor (Camry) tank and weld it in place on the TE71 tank. This has worked fine for me. If you aren't sure of the welds you can seal it with 2 part epoxy or 2pak paint.

Though be bloody careful cutting/welding fuel tanks. Make sure they are empty, rinsed and dry, then do it all a few times more just to be safe.
