I LOVE speedway. Cant beat it. Was going to go tonight to Murry Bridge but didnt go because getting the 16v in the 86 was more important.

Luke Oldfield dominated the v8 dirt modifieds in lismore on boxing day.....they had a shoot out for pole with one on one 2 lap sprints it was great!

Luke got put into the wall in one of them, ripped a wheel off but was back out there for the final and won it easy!!

Mate of mine and his younger brother both race Street Stocks here in NSW - looks like good, cheap fun compared to other forms of door to door racing, although the top guys still seem to be able to spend massive coin on their set ups...

speedway dudes do the thing, where they are only allowed to use off the shelf parts, but do shit like buy heaps of pistons till they find some that are over sized a little and stuff like that. Still good fun. Best thing to do is just get an eb falco, lock the diff, nice headers and pipe, manual with decent clutch, some sort of cage, cut out anything you can after, plexi glass and go have some fun.

not that easy at all mate.i do speedway and i wish it was that easy.i have a ra65 with beams powered.dnt realy race at archie only like lismore, grafton, tamwoth, gunndedah, marybougher, gymp ie,cairns, gilgandrah, and a few others. archie dsnt let us race (modified fourcylinders) there.

i work on these all day and make parts for these (everything except the engine) and ive been to a few meets to see them go.
man these people are nuts. 800hp+ direct drive, no clutch, no gears just on or off. crazy.

they worry about us making parts the lightest we can possibly make them, but will then go eat 4 burgers a litre of coke, and a heap of chips just before the race :S

for alot of the serious guys its like a drug. we have seen people sell their houses just to keep going to meets...

Speed way is cool, my grand dad used to do it back in the day, no cages, holden gray motors, sideways machines

it doesnt work in toyotas favor from what ive heard. theyre pretty anti tech' so even the 4 cylinder class capacity rules. like there is a large penalty for twin cam or its not allowed or something. someone who knows more hopefully can inform us better.

im in the open modified four cylinders and u can have wateva four cylinder n/a engine u want (i have a beams) ohh and has to be ford to ford , toyota to toyota blah blah.a ke 0r 86 wldnt be the best option i dnt think there is a cple ke's but the length and width of them arnt big enough.we have XA6Xs.the sigmas and that class is shit lol, but wld be mint if u just wanna get in there and have some fun.my rules are suspension OPEN engine OPEN but funnily enough its cheaper cause i can make my own parts that i bend and u can strenthen them so they dnt bend so yeah.anything else use wanna no lol ?

so a 22r live axle 140 series corona would be good in? what class? you can get a single down draught manifold/head combo on the 2.4 bottom end easy.

went for a ride in one of the work cars tonight. new 2 seater theyve built. pretty fucking stupid just how much speed these things gain on the straightaways, and how they still accelerate around corners when sliding. awesome.

Iv raced speed way for 3 years in the junior class running a stock 1.6l Honda civic, went very very well I was act number 2 and NSW number 4.
My younger brother is running that class now in a ae92 with a small port 16v
We race at goulburn parramatta and Canberra and nowra

I'm thinking of building a new car ATM it will be a ae71 powered by black top in the modified class
