hey guys i recently got a headunit and speakers for my trueno and i hit a problem, i was planning to mount my speakers with pod spacers on the bottom front corner of my doors but yeah found out spacers arnt large enough, was wondering if you guys have pictures of how ur sound systems are fitted if you have cut holes into ur door trims or w.e, also i wouldn't mind seeing pictures of how you guys resolved to filling up the double din space.

just to show what im talking about, sorry for the poor phone camera quality

pull your door panel off and have a look at the door. on the hinge side of the door there is a hole big enough to poke 6" speakers into. thats how i did it in my hachi

yeah well last guy had 6's in the front too but like he only had small spacers so im guessing different speakers have a variety of rear surface mine sticks out like black booty so thats why i wana get an idea of how everyones done theirs.

buy 4 inch for the front and use the 6 inch on the shelf

nah 6" fit in the front fine,

just gota make up some spaces, so they dont interfere with the window mechanism.

take off your door cards, and find the hole in the corner ish where the speaker will fit, then make up a little template out of cardboard so you can transfer it onto your door card, so you get the hole in the right place.

the speakers you have pictured arnt very deep at all, so should fit in real nice.

you might need to make up a metal backing plate for the door card, as the cardboard/chipboard stuff that the door cards are made from dont really hold screws very well, especially ones that have the weight of a speaker hanging off them.

im sure you'll figure it out

I got mine up the top at the back of the door.... this looks shit and is shit, so don't do it this way :P or else your door trims will die from the weight of the speakers

my last hachi had 4 inch in the dash, 6x9 in the back parcel shelf and a sub and amp in the boot.

my new hachi is going to have 4 inch in the dash, 4 inch in the plastics that hold the back parcel shelf on (under the seat belt thingos) and thats it. i figured that with the current engine/exhaust setup id rather hear that than music most of the time so no need for a big system.

^^Pretty schmick dude! They look great :)

Don't be afraid of cutting holes into your doors. The box you buy the speakers in will have guides/patterns for you to use when cutting the holes. You may need to buy some speaker boxes to hold them in the door, but once you have cut them and put them into place, it will all be good! I had to do this when I owned an older Nissan ute, which originally had one speaker in the front. Ripped that out, cut a whole in the other door card (after working out the right area to cut, pretty easy to do once you pull the door card out), popped the speakers in their baskets, wired them up and I was away! Only took an afternoon too :)

Those speakers aren't deep, you just need to find a spot in the door that has no metal behind it. You will end up with plenty of room for the speakers, and have them sitting flush in the door. Normally you can get a hold of some basic moulded pods from your local car audio store (no preference, most should have them) if thats the direction you want to go.

As for the double-din part, I decided to buy a DVD unit to fill the space :P But before that, there was a little aftermarket storage alcove/filler fitted to fill up the space:

If you can see it, that is :)
