Hi guys,

After a quick answer. What socket size to fit 4ag 16V sparkies?

I had a deep socket at home but the prick doesnt fit in the recess around the plug. :shout:

The spark plugs are 16mm.

I use a 16mm thin-walled impact driver on a ratchet handle.

Your plugs shouldnt be done up too tight anyways.

I use 16mm deep socket (maybe yours is too phat). It has a rubber grommet on the inside which grabs on the white part of the plug and pulls it up. Its a specialised piece.

or you could use a 16mm deap socket and a magnet on stick :)

Yeah, this. The rubber fell out of mine. Long nose pliers to put them back in, too :DD

If the deep socket doesnt fit, take it to a machinist (or at least someone who can use a lathe) and machine down the external diameter a few mm's from the open end up. Might only cost you a few beers.

Better yet, head to super cheap or an auto store of some description and buy a few cheap separate 16mm sockets and get a few done at once. If they have to machine quite a bit off the sockets can crack, so you'll have spares.

I use do this to the plug sockets for my RX7's, 13B's have a big ridge around the spark plug hole and 90% of spark plug sockets dont fit.
