Hey all,

I went to install my drivers side bride rail today, it all lined up well, apart from the left rear bracket. The bracket is flat, when it should go down to the floor.

Is that normal? why would it be like that, are the JDM ones different or is my car weird?

JDM body would not be any different. Your Bride rail is either bent or made to suit a different car.

Are you sure its for the RH side?

Take some more pics, where did you purchase it from?

run a spacer thats what i did coz on factory seat rails there is a rubber block and total legnth has to be made up

It was from banzai parts garage, it said drivers side on the rail. In the pic I have a spark plug socket sitting on the hole where the bracket should be, and at the top of that is how the bracket sits. Thats how far off the rail is when sitting level with the other mounts in place, I'd need a pretty damn massive spacer.

man i think you gotta left hand rail there...

you don't need any spacers with a bride rail.

is the rhs rear of the rail a flat section as well or a \_ shape if you know what i mean

hey, i bought a bride drivers seat rail off the net last week from japan. I am still waiting for it to arrive.
Does yours have a Bride sticker on it? If so, whats the part number? Is it the same as mine?
This is the label on the one i have coming -

How much did you pay for it?

After seeing those pics, and looking at mine, I'm thinking it is actually a LH one, despite the label.

But if the label says drivers side and it isn't, that must mean its not genuine, do those welds look dodgy or amateur to anyone?

i dont know what the welds normally look like on bride seat rails, but from what i can see, they look pretty awful by my standards..
also the holes for the front look pretty elongated too compared the the other picture

I was thinking that too, its hard to see from the phone pics, but it looks like they have been cut out pretty dodgy

To me, your looks like it could have BEEN a genuine AE86 bride rail that someone has modified to put in a differant car..........

I purchased this EXACT rail in question from Banzai Parts Garage about 3-4 months ago.
I subsequently returned it to him with detailed pictures of that rail next to an original RH side seat rail, explaining that despite the sticker it has clearly been cut up and modified... and resprayed.

To Banzai's credit I was fully refunded. Its just disappointing its made its way out there again. Cut it in half :2thumbs: and return it to him and ask for a refund.

Thats pretty dodgy for a business to do that....

If it's too much effort to find another one take it to any fabrication shop and ask them to change the bolt tongue's.

Just looks like someone's got it, realised it was drivers and converted it to passenger to use on that side. Personally I'd just make a comment to Banzai and then get it changed myself. Up to you though.

bit of a weird one as Mark is quite a good guy

i'm sure if you give him a call he'll sort you out

it definately has been modded to suit passenger side, even if you spaced it your seat would be leaning right forward whihc would be wak as :P . welds should be alot neater and no holes elongated, the Japanese are very good at what they do and rarely sell imprecise shit. that would be their friends, China

Just ring Mark back. He is a good guy & wouldn't have sold it to you if he had known. It probably just accidently got mixed back in with his others. It wouldn't be hard with the stock turnover he has.

yep second this, the banzia guy is good guy. i bought a nardi wheel off him a while ago, got home and realised it was uber warped....just drove back and he swapped it for another!

(too bad it was an hour or so drive each way:P but ohh well)

Yep, Mark was more then happy to swap it for a drivers side one. I guess it was just a big mix up, because when i originally messaged him online he said he only had one in stock, then when i went down to the store I had a choice of two, so i chose the fresher looking one, which turned out to be a mistake, lol. This rail was probably a bride drivers side one, but it has been modified by someone to be a passanger side one, and is a little dodgy. But now I have a proper drivers side one and it all fits perfectly. Only hassle was having to drive the 2 hours to the coast and back as mentioned. :2thumbs:

Mine arrived yesterday, only took 3 days, FROM JAPAN!

Whoa, what a differance! Now i dont end up on the passenger seat when turning/sliding right hand corners.... lol lol lol
