View Full Version : Power figures

Thought it might be interesting to make a power figures thread to compare what people are making with their engines

so post up yours with whatever mods have been done, should be interesting to see what people are making.

mine made 75kw at the wheels, on a stock motor with extractors/full exhaust system and a filter.

My old Stock 4age with a filter and 2.25 exhaust managed 106.5hp atw..... my new 4age will hopefully be dynoed sometime soon

woah 106hp thats pretty pretty really good aye ? actuly whilst having a piss i was thinking that the motor wouldn't have made that power ? even if it was 100kw engine.. its like pouring 1.5lt's out of a 1.2lt jug

when i first dyno'd the ae82 with gze it put out 112hp, after playn with it i managed 178hp.

106hp isnt that crazy for a 4age..... you do realize thats only about 80kw?
wish i had a car worthy of a dyno..... my 21rc aparently made 64kw (owners manual) ...... didnt feel like it tho haha

andy - i think your figure is wrong

you only made 63 at auto salon a notoriously HIGH reading dyno

although seemed accurate on the day

IF your car made 75 on the 1920s tafe dyno then C1s car would make over 80 which is BS

want to post up both print outs?

My Bigport 4age with 4agze internals, ACL Flat Top Pistons, Exhaust made 67.5 rwkw's... Proven

this thread is complete bullshit without printouts fellas.

dont bother posting a power figure unless you can back it up.

will just confuse/send people in the wrong direction for motor/mods choice for their desired power.

wooo, who wants to race! :P

thats a tired old bigport, with unifilter and exhaust

Funny that.

Just shows that you cant trust a dyno really...

My printout (pics soon) shows the same power, and the motor was fresh with new everything...

johnny_08
22nd January 2008, 03:57 PM
hummm must be my jap spec comp :P The dyno was done 3 times tho, each had different figures, in the 80-90's tho, no idea why

BouNCE-86

Like i said above, 4age...

Civic would make way more, sorry guys... :D

Mine felt faster than it was though. Around the 90hp / 67wk mark seemed a little low...

I'll admit my shit power output.... 80KW on a GZE with mild mods... don't think I need to post up numbers to prove it because it's not stupid :P

110rwkw from bigport GZE, standard internals, 12-13psi boost pod filter extractors 2.5" exhaust FMIC and Autronic. It lasted about a month before I bought a turbo kit :) New figure coming soon.

yeh but the engine only makes 86kw and you lose way more than 6kw thru drivetrain.

you piking up what im puting down :)
you catchen what im pitching :)

anyway...
this dyno was done after a blow up (due to previous tuner) and engine has probs tho im still driving it around now (cylinders 2 & 3 are low on comp and rattle really loud) and it was tuned on the retarted side to try quiet the pistons down.

Im building a new motor at the mo so soon soon ill have some real power.

Top one is a Silvertop, plus has an aftermarket ecu, from memory...

I remember the day the snotter hit the dyno, the look on the faces of those bogans! " No car can rev THAT high " :D

lawson, jamie has dyno'd about 10 4age sprinters and he said they all made in the region of 60-65kw, the tafe dyno is regarded as one of the most accurate ones in the state, it's been upgraded from the '1920's' one, he also said that it revved a lot harder in the top end than most of the other 4age's that he's dynoed, he thought it had cams but i can't see anything that looks modified.

C1's motor on the other hand i am fairly certain, has something done to the bottom end, as it was quicker than my current one, and had a lot of add on parts on it when i first got it (trd leads, extractors, flywheel..) this would explain why that one makes more power than both mine and felix's

don't have scanned copies of the charts, but if you really want to see them i'll bring them to the workshop when i'm down there next.

Was at 200.1kw at rears wheels ..... rebuilding engine and putting new ecu Autronic sm4 ... with current build should be good for 240+kw

seeing as we are on the topic of dyno's here, ill add a bit.

The 'Shootout' mode on dyno dynamics is designed to make all DD run at the same code (ramp up rate, resistance etc etc).
It was one way to solve the High Reading dynos that have stupid codes to give false readings.

Any printouts of 4AGTE's with T25/8s

I want to see more. And the torque curves please

Ive got one of 128.4 kw on 9 psi 4agte 8.0:1 c/r with stock afm electrics and afm with a t28 bush turbo.
I find it rather impressive since its limited to low boost and has a supercharger ecu lol
