Just an idea, instead of wasting hours looking at the net about peoples projects, how about actually get involved.
Simple idea. Someone needs something done, clutch/Engine/tyre change :hehe: , they post & anyone who is doing nothing turns up. Very simple & a good way to meet up, have a laugh & get shit done.
Just pissed ive no project on the way although the car needs a wash.
A few beers here/there might go a long way.. yum,yum

if anyone is keen they can come and wash my car

but unfortunately thats about all id really let "strangers" do to my car.

only a few ppl i actually trust to do up things like caliper bolts.....

but if you want my hand, by all means give me a buzz i guess.

sounds like an idea.
well in the next few weekend i need to do for my sr conversion

-Put flywheel and clutch on (need torque wrench)
-change bellhousings (RB to SR)
-put motor gearbox back in
-Add swaybar mounts to my diff
-do a helicoil (havnt done one before)
-fit hydro handbrake (flare lines)
-paint it with cans (everyone would have fun here!)

Check over the car, make sure everything is tight

if anyone is keen, i can supply beers and what not

but the catch is... im on the Gold Coast.. near movie world

12th May 2009, 06:57 PM
can anyone do brazing....? either stainless or brass to aluminum?
I need 4 nuts brazed onto my 20v cam cover so I can hold my coilpacks down....

- Also if anyone knows what they are doing I need to fit a new head gasket to the 20v before it goes in the car and set all the timing up correctly?
I can take shit apart its the reinstalling that I'm not so confident with..... aka setting the clearances and I don't have a torque wrench either....
There is beer for whoever can help with this... or a payment, just name your price..... Although this only applies to people who know wtf they are doing..

patience
12th May 2009, 07:50 PM
Well if you find someone to do it, I have a torque wrench and will be doing a trd headgasket soon on mine, so if you wouldn't mind some company while/when it gets done I can bring it round as I would like to see how its done.

20th January 2010, 07:57 PM
Hi mate

cant make any promises yet but would be keen to help out. Will let you know by this weekend.

Do you have a crane, stands, trolly jacks, a level concrete surface? A vice or press would be handy for changing bushings in the rear. All fluids/oils? lots of rags, a timing light?

What exactly are you swaping to i.e. 4age to 4age? s series to t series disc or drum?

Defiantly doable in a weekend just have to be prepared.

trikzlane
20th January 2010, 08:02 PM
all this is goin in

sounds good fellas!

Of the list of equipment i have Crane, 4 stands, 2 jacks, Massive flat concrete, piss-ass vice that will hopefully work for pressing the new bushes in... ive been told to just melt the old ones out? lol.

Will be getting all fluids and oils etc early tomorrow morning. dont have a timing light, should probably grab one. and yeh heap-o-rags

-going from s series rear to t series rear - only parts that im re-using are panhard and 4link (but rebushing them)
-Was originally 4age 16v bigport, Now is a 20v bottom end with 16v bigport top so my carbs will bolt straight back on etc (but will need a tune :( )
stem seals, timing and pulleys etc are back on aswel :)

would be something special if the rig is drivable after this weekend! i miss it lol

edit: oh and yer i have intake/exhaust gaskets etc all ready to go aswel. got a mate bringing over some gasket goop too

biggo
29th January 2010, 07:43 PM

hey there mother lickers,

the car is running a bit shite at the moment and it seems similar to when it was out of time not so long ago. so i have a new timing belt and was wondering if anyone has done this before and would kindly be of some assistance? im also thinking of talking the head off for a new headgasket and a port job.

the car is off the road for the moment so im just trying to decide what i can get done at the same time.

pm or post if you're interested. i have tools and some automotive knowledge but it would be great to have some more experience.

timbo

Download a manual on the interwebs, you should be able to do it yourself :)

Porting job, you will need to do some reading etc.

Engine specs?
