Are you struggling for clearance with your huge negative offset wheels? guard flaring just isn't enough,
sounds like you need to go with a wide body.

first step is to remove your existing rear quater, i find a good way to do this is a Toyota Kluger failing to give way at any given intersection.

Before:http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/7175/p1120402nd8.jpg

After: http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/5669/p2220430az9.jpg

Once this is done the next step is to build up your new rear quater, but wider.
to regain structural integrity wood can be used much like in building construction, and then to get your desired shape, Newspapers chicken wire and expando-foam are good choices.

To get the colour you once had back into your new panel, there is a wide selection of coloured duct tapes at your local bunnings, in my case, white, tied in very nicely with the rest of the vehicle, and the great thing about Duct Tape is, at the same time as adding colour to your panel, you also waterproofs it. :2thumbs:

So there you have it, a brief explanation of the DIY wide body.

only two! which i was surprised with myself,

good thing is boys, the week before this happened a truck also reversed into my car and they agreed upon $900 cash outside of insurance (it was hit in the exact same spot) and now ill be getting the write off money from this womans insurance and its all going into my sprinter.....

but its sad to see my daily suffer in this way, she was so good to me, 8.5 litres/100k giving it flat stick, big carby with a menacing sound but excruciatingly slow acceleration, shredding local dirt carparks, dominating the wet.

RIP galant.

You should have added like 40kgs of bog to it just for fun, n just built a rear quarter out of bog. That would have been heaps funny.

well my mates and i had planned to drive up Lake Mountain *prior to this accident* and i still wanted to that night even after what had happened, as it was raining friday night i had just put a garbage bag with clear tape all spray painted it white. i was flogging my car at about 140 and then next time we stopped to my dismay 80% of the bag was gone...just some strips and bits of tape left flapping, exposing all my chicken wire.

oh poor galant :(
i pretty much leant to rally in one of those little beasts.. excruciatingly slow, but a demon once wound up and tearing up a dirt track.

i have an idea.....

take this to your local car wash. (remove newspaper/chickenwire/coke cans/ whatevas holding that 1/4 together)

got thru the automatic wash (not the squirt-it-yourself bays)

lol at whats left of the rear 1/4

go demand to speak to the manager, show him your car and DEMAND he pays for the damage to your car caused by the car wash!!

of course have all this being recorded by a mate nearby and post on youtube and put link up here.

would be a good laugh
worth the 10 buck car wash price

I would be down for that, but not just yet, i still need to get to work! so i will be driving this for quite a while longer....at least until RACV write it off on me, i'd love to drive it in this state till the rego runs out (september), get my true value for money.
