Hey everyone,

Well after finding this ke70 for sale, I decided i would sell the old blue bus with the slant front to make way for this one with the flat front. (Will miss the old blue one as she did look the part).

This is the build of the new KE70 which i picked up today to start getting ready for some sliding action hopefully! Not 100% sure to what i want to do with her yet with the engine but there are a few engines in my mind, it is just a matter of doing research and checking which way i want to go and also which would suit what i need the car for.

This thread will go from start to finish of the KE70 so keep a check on the thread and you will see the progress with many pictures to come!

Anyway enough talk and some pictures of the new bus as it looked today from when i picked it up...

Will post pictures up tomorrow of the car as it sits after the suspension mods made yesterday! Also the chrome bumper attached to the front of the car, still have to do the rear...

Also welded the diff yesterday just for a bit of fun while I get the SR20 ready to drop into it. Then get a T series diff with LSD inside :D

Update: Ksev got her new shoes, suspension, and a welded diff last weekend... Just need to get some smaller tyres put on the rear wheels and a slight flair happening then cut another coil out of the rear springs =]

Also need to adjust the front bumper, have just used the standard holes and mounts - Didn't realise till after it was fitted you need to mod if a lil bit!

looks much better now! refit bumper?

Just need to re-drill the holes in the brakets for the bumper so it sits flush and also use something to make it sit flat, not tilted up to the sky! HAHA

Finally got some time to work on the poor old thing today!!! Fixed the front bumper up so its sitting straight and flush in spot... Also took the standard rear one off to attempt to put the rear chrome bumper on but not luck with lack of tools :(

Also started to collect a few parts for the sr20 conversion, should be fun when completed.

15's aren't to bad but i will admit that 14's would look slightly better on the old girl because then she could go lower! Also have new tyres on the rear and TRD 5kg springs coming from Buddy this week =]

Well finally the new engine got dropped off the for the ke70 today... Can't wait to start ripping shit out and getting rid of that stupid 4k.

Will be cleaning the engine bay and respraying the whole engine bay before we put the new motor in. Will test fit them spray to save any arse farting around when the engine bay looks all new and clean.
So stay tuned for more updates to come, hopefully start next weekend then have it finished within a month including everything in the conversion and spraying.

Finally the project has started. SR20 is sitting on the Engine Stand and getting bits and piece bolted back up to her ready for the conversion.

Just stuck trying to track down a few bits for the conversion such as rb20 gearbox, engine mounts for the cross members (keeping the standard toyota on in there) pedal box and just other small things! Can't wait, have 4 weeks to throw the car together to make the tassie drift series round 2 and have a crack with Leigh Pidwell.

Few pictures of the New Garrett GT28R Turbo with Tuneagent Manifold that I have been working on today at work. Very fun day for me! LOL

All that is needed now is a daily to use for the next couple of weeks, as soon as i can borrow a car to get around in then i will be dropping the SR20 straight into the rolla! Can't f**ken wait... Stay tuned as there will be lots of pictures and most likely help questions coming!!! :D

Finally the Conversion has started :)

SR20DE+T has been assembled and put together, now just waiting on a few small things to arrive then she will be ready to drop into the ke70. Have now decided to go with the s13 front end as it is going to save a bit of time and also custom fab work.

Here are some pictures of the SR20 as it sits at the moment:

I am still trying to decide what colour to spray the engine bay while the motor is out! I just want to make it a bit more tidy in there for when the bonnet is up. So if you have some idea's please let me know :)

A lot more update/photo's to come next week when we start dropping stuff ino the engine bay...

Haha we don't sell copy shit! That is on selling for a customer LOL! I was thinking about it though but don't want to spend money on useless shit like that!

Thanks for the comment everyone. I am thinking a nice White engine bay but if I do that then I need to hide all wires and shit, my color choices atm are:
White - Silver - OR Bright Orange :hehe:

Plenty of progress has happened. s13 front end had been fitted and just modifing the standard castor rods. Some freindly engine bay tapping in the tunnel wall has taken place as well...

Engine will be in and staying in this weekend and will have pictures to come :-)

15th September 2009, 11:17 PM
Haha yeah I had the ae86 front end in there before the conversion. Reason behind going the s13 front end is because the SR20 just bolts straight in. Looking at running r31 LCA's to shorten the front track as it is kind of stupid at the moment.

Pedal box almost in and finished today, Motor will be in by next weekend and ready for piping and wiring to be done. I have some pictures however been to busy organising for Drift Australia this weekend. Stay tuned for pictures :-)
