ive been thinking for a while about going 13's on my daily ke. something like 13x7 and 13x7.5 neg offset.

i realise to pull of 13's and make them look good you have to go low... very low. i was just wondering how low most the e7's on here where with 13's? cops hate low cars in toowoomba so im still deciding to do it or not. as my cars around 70-80mm off the ground and they dont like it already :(

also anyone got some good pictures of tidy ke's on fat 13s..

I am picking up those 13x8 MK2's from Buddyparts next Monday. Been meaning to pick them up for nearly a month

I will be running them with a 5mm spacer on the front (13x8 -11) with 175/60 Advan tyres, and I have a pair of 13x8 -13 MK2s as well as a pair of 13x8 -10 MK1s for skids with random 175/60s. Gonna have to figure out what tyres are good in that size as no one else really skids on such small tyres.

Will get a pic of my car when it clears defect, as right now it rides like a 4wd

before I took my coilovers out I test fitted the 13x8s and the engine crossmember was just under 40mm off the ground...

Cheers, Ben.

works for escorts? there are some down sides, but i dont think its unworkable.

dunno about the tire shortage either... theres not as much around but its not like theres nothing.

it might not be quite as good as 14s overall, but then i guess you could say 14s arent as good as 15s but people still loves 14s and do amazing shit with them on there cars.

i just bought 13x7/8 hayashis, be here next week.

if you run say a 185/60 tire, then youll be about 12mm closer to the ground than a person running the same tire on a 14. thing is you might also wanna lower the car more to get the same look, cos youre gonna have about the same (12mm) for air gap above the tire.

so then youre really an inch lower to the ground..

the biggest problem there is, trying to get your lcas at a nice angle. 13" wheel means you cant fit as big an rca (ball joint will hit the inside of the rim)

13's are the shit!!!

and there are a fair few different tyres available u just gotta know where to look

Thats why i dont like em, to get a decent rolling diamter you need 65 profile tyres which will flex heaps, and the lca issue also.

Tyres are a fair issue if your skidding too, even 185/60/14's are starting to dissapear 2nd hand now. The only readily available 13's are 185-175/70/13 which would feel terrible.

There are semi slicks available tho, 2nd hand formula ford tyres.

After I got defected I took the 14s off and test fitted the 13x8s as well as winding the coilovers down nearly another inch to where I want them.

And Nick you've only seen old pics of my KE70 when it had high as front springs, and cut falcon springs over 15x8s

with very wound down coilovers and 200mm rear springs (might go lower) it sits pretty nice on 13s, less than 40mm clearance is pretty low

yeah its cool being that low.
but like getting beached on speed bumps, getting stuck in driveways and scraping on little raises in the road isnt that great.

I think mine was like 20-15mm from the crossmember on flatground when i had like 7 degrees camber, took the camber back to like -5 and raised it a tiny bit.

you never have a camera, so like i have said before. until i see pics it doesnt exist :P

Fuck 20mm! I'll see if I can get mine near that low lol, I'm running 3 degrees camber though

It is a little homo on the street, when I had it that low I got stuck on my driveway. Not too fussed though, the price you have to pay to look so gangster

In case I can't get out when its finished being built, I got some some planks of wood my dad uses as he can't get his car out the driveway either lol

so what are good 175/60R13 tyres for skids?

edit, I'll get pics when it clears hopefully two weeks

the smaller rolling diameter i see personally see as an advantage, makes a 4.1 a workable diff ratio. and yeah 2nd hand tires i think are a false economy. with an na 4a you can get multiple track days out of one pair of new tires. which means you only need one pair of extra wheels. if that.

also formula ford tires are cross ply cut slicks. i tried them on my 86 once. weird..

anyway, well see. its just a quick throw together.
