So bought a ae86 on sunday.

Its meant to have rego till may 27 2012, sticker is on the car. All went well so i bought it.
Details matched on REVS and their is no encumbrances.
Now im back home, trying to transfer the registration, but my problem is that on the paperwork i have.
Their isnt a "registration receipt number".
And without that i cant do it online.

So my question is, Do i need that receipt to do it at the motor registry?
Have i been jipped and now have to pay for rego/blueslip?
Ive tried to contact the old owner but to no success atm.

i would dare say you need to go into the RTA, do you have a receipt from buying the car (if not get a gf or mum or someone to write saying) "I (make up a name) sold 1 ae86 registered as is condition for blah amount and have the sig of someone on the bottom and your sig

thats because the last rego renewal would have been done online and your receipt number is on email, and doesn't get printed on the sticker like it does when you renew at an RTA office
