WOULD-be thieves were shocked to find a motorised go-kart wouldn’t fit on the back seat of a Holden Commodore seat.
They were even more surprised when police arrived and arrested them for allegedly stealing the kart.
Patrolling police passed three men attempting to fit a kart on the back seat of the car outside St Luke’s Lutheran Church, on Bridge Street near the intersection of Greenwattle Street, in Wilsonton, at 10.30pm on Friday.
Further questioning of the men revealed they were attempting to steal the kart.
"They tried to get it into the back seat but it got stuck and they couldn’t squeeze it in," Toowoomba Police sergeant Jamie Deacon said.
Acting Sergeant Bevan Schott yesterday confirmed the trio, aged 22, 20 and 19, was taken into custody.
"The men had climbed a fence into a backyard and carried the go-kart back over the fence out onto Bridge Street," Act Sgt Schott said.
Police returned the kart to its owner and two men were charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

My mates and I used to play a game we made up a while ago called spotto! rules were if you were out and about and a "one off commodore" caught your eye, you'd take a picture. Pictures were collated at the end of the week and the player with the most outstanding capture of fine automotive taste would be shouted rounds of drinks from everyone.

I think I still have a folder on my computer of all the quality vehicles I saw.
