So I decided that 2 86's wasn't enough for me and decided to go get myself a E7 wagon, after about an hour of looking I was put onto this one and picked it up today. This car will be on Club plates as I'll only be needing it to pick up parts and tow stuff every now and then so this discounted rego suits me nicely!

Once I got home I chucked on some super lights with tread (15x8 -4) on them and gave the engine and under side of the car a quick blast with the pressure washer. And here she sits now.

I plan on lowering it and pulling out all the dints and if she is lucky enough a nice new coat of paint, also need to find me a tow bar (if you know where I could get one yell out)

Yeh change the oil, mate had an adm 86 went fine for years on just top ups then he changed it and it threw a big end, didn't know if it liked new oil or not.Got all the stuff for service today at work, air, oil and fuel filters, new belt, coolant and oil too. Just needs to stop raining.

Nah dude 4A-C's don't need oil. My old one lasted ages without, just gotta treat it dirty and let it know who's boss, haha.

Looking good man.

Any chance you can post up some close up pics of how you are doing the bolt on guard. I am looking to do something simular to the KE70 I just got..

Are the back door going to still be able to open?

Best way to fasten them would have to be with threadsetters.

I'm using these things called rivnuts, i think they are the same thing as the thread setters, pretty much a rivet but it has a thread in it and becomes a captive nut almost.

Ill prob have to stick an extra one near the ends of each flare as they seem to sit up a lil bit too much due to the curve of the body.

I will get some photos of it tomoz as well as the tools ect that im using to install em.

And yeh if you position the flare right there is no probs with the rear door opening and closing, thing to to is just get a roll of tape and tape the living shit out of it till its in place and the door works, its all about prep like most things, and dont rush it!

Just ran out and took this pick of the rear passenger one that ive bolted on

Cheers mang, I will be watching how you do it.
Where did you get the Flares from?

The ones I have, are made for an AE86, so they arn't quite right on the KE70, so I dont think I will use them. I spent 2 hours on the weekend trying to find the best position, and wasn't happy with it....

What wheel sizes are you planning on fitting?

I am planning on using 15x8 neg13 offset (Work Equip 01's)

Thanks

flares are just from ebay. they are universal but where designed for a 240z so to suit e7 ask for 2 sets of rears.

wheels ive currently got are 15x8 -4 super lights and ill just chuck some spacers on for now

So when i got home of Friday i found a nice lil green sticker in the middle of my windscreen from the same cock that threatened to have my dog put down because there was a moody preggas bitch next door saying that it sometimes barked while she was having a nap...

Here is said sticker...

So any way as I dont like the local council or police or pretty much anyone, with marker in hand i decided to have some fun...
http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/521160.jpg

i believe i did rather well drawing a freehand troll face and message to the council on the INSIDE of the glass...no wiping it off till i want to! Car still hasn't got rego but i found a legal way to park on the street with out a permit or rego...

Oh and even with trolling i also managed got a tach dash too!

Tuesday i have it booked in for the club rego check so we should have it on the road... legally by Wednesday without exploiting a loophole...

Glad I don't have neighbours like that!

What's this loophole you speak off? :P

PRIMRK

i had a trailer with rego...so i put the car on it and still left it in the street...that will teach the neighbours to complain about my cars

hows the club rego work? mean you can only drive a certain amount of times per year?

KurtHS
24th September 2011, 05:57 PM
You get 90 days a year to drive and you have to logbook every time you drive it, a minor hassle for the advantages of club rego. Legally you have 90 days but you may forget to logbook some of the times you drive your car.

PRIMRK
24th September 2011, 07:43 PM
Yeh kurts on it, big advantage is that it only costs $130 for the rego as well as cheep insurance through shannons, and the laws as far as what you can and cant modify/engineer are a bit more lax, i mean technically cars under club permits dont have to comply with any ADR's. (but its a still a good idea cos cops may still hassle you about it)

Any way, got my lowering blocks in today....and i may be a lil too low...3" drop is a bit more than i expected but hey...low and lazy is the way to go!

the club permit scheme is not to allow unroadworthy vehicles on the road.

you seem to have missed the point of it.

also the bit about forgetting to put an entry in KurtHS? expect a $500 fine if you get pulled over for having an unregistered vehicle on the road.

if users are being seen to abuse the system, it may be pulled altogether.

all cars on the club permit still have to comply with ADR's. cars that are modified should still be safe to drive on the road.

expect changes to come in over the next year or so that will close some of these supposed loopholes you've found.

I do love the car and the stance and all that. top job.

I wasn't condoning not filling out your logbook at all, merely stating that it happens. If I had a car on club rego I would always fill out the logbook and I wouldn't use it more than 90 days, my old man has a club reg car and he has always logbooked his drives.

Yes I'm also disappointed about the abuse of the system going on, we need to hold onto this great thing we have.

From what I remember reading the rules you can actually have a car that doesn't comply to ADR rules so long as it's inspected and deemed safe by this one bloke somewhere in Melbourne, forgot his name sorry.

i <3 this thread so much u put your "U MAD" pic on my fb status

PRIMRK

Well my track car with the 4.3lt V8 is able to be rego'd under club plates even though ADR's say the limit it up to 4lt capacity per 1000kg because the car us built right and is deemed safe, so its all a bit more relaxed really and thats all i want, if your doing something stupid and dangerous then the cops will pull you up and question it and thats the risk you take by modifying a vehicle, no matter what rego you have.
