nothing like the quality of my other builds but we took a nice 4k slant ke, light blue spec, delivered courtesy of klingberg (team spot on sr kewagon) did a couple of skids before pulling the real tough 4k out and within hours had the old vl rb30 shoehorned in.

a little firewall massaging required with the shifter coming in not to bad position.

spent a couple of hours today on box mounts and fired it up. Modified the tie bar so the radiator can sit on top of it as the engine is a little longer than the 4k lol

list of things to do :

wire engine properly
bolt on the extractors
fit the vl pump
chop knuckles
longer lcas or maybe chop and lengthen
make a bracket for the acclelerator cable
make a hyraulic clutch work
wait for my mate to make a sleve for the tailshaft
get some front guards
do some skids

Rb would be atleast 1.5x the weight of an sr!

bit more progress on the weekend

made the 86 clutch pedalbox fit next to the ke one and welded them together to make on sexal pedalbox.

did the wiring for the ecu and fuel pump

made a dogee bracket for the accelerator cable

mademounts for the radiator

installed my brand new clutch master

best of all today bought some 8kg front ke springs for not too bad price!!!

next weekend will entail fuel pump install, weld a bigger pickup in the tank, probly put a new water pumpon the rb, put the motor back in for good and maybe a few front sus mods

FAST EDDIE
25th August 2011, 07:25 PM
also purchased this week ajps lock spacer and new rack boots. may attack the sus this weekend but might just get it running with fuel system in properly. needs a waterpump as its seeping out the hole in the front but might just see what chemiweld does!!

sounds like its gunna be pretty intense. and in reguards to the pump do it, dont chemiweld that shit, if it was headgasket then maybe but waterpumpm is easy

FAST EDDIE

heres a few pics after the weekends effort, got it running, figured out what was going on with the wiring, for some reason the trigger wire i used for the relays cuts out when cranking hence killing fuel pump and ecu relays and no spark while cranking.

doged up a tailshaft so i could drive it, turned out pretydamn good so i decicded to do a victory skid lol. rb30 in a ke great success.

may need a turbo i think

made it to the track on saturday. got a wheel laignment in the morning, has 3deg camber with my lcasi made now has 3 deg castor with th wheels ending up sitting against the front of the guards so had to chop them out.

when i got to the track the alternator decided to give up then came good after a few laps. thrashed it hard all night was prety impressed with how it handled, had an issue with the t series drums locking on and robbing power and blew out a brake hose so drove with no brakes for a few laps.

all in all its prety decent drift car, gonna put the sc14 on make a swaybar for the front and take it out again!!

all the tossers going on about the weight over the front being too much and the car handling like shit are dreamers drifts far better than a 4ag ke70 hahahah.

replaced the blown brake line, and the other side was also rubbed through front the wheel rubbing, snapped the mounting bracket off the body and drilled holes and mounted it flush to the inner skirt with zipties of course so the wheel wont rub it anymore, need to get the supercharger setup on soon!!

well took it to the track with the sc14 on and it felt like it went slower for all the effort it took to put it on haha.

i pulled the sc setup off tonight and when i took the radiator hose off it had nearly 1 cup of muddy water left in it total after last saturday, so i topped up the radiator thinking shed would be drinking water and not a sign of any trouble!!!! im guessing when it was detonating last weekend it was lifting the head a little and drinking coolant who knows!!

will be hitting up the track this saturday with some skinnies on loving it!!!
