this is just copy of ebay ad
Bought this vehicle with the intention of cleaning it up and using it as a cheap skidder, quickly did a comp test on it this afternoon and compression is down on cyl 1 (could be blown h/g though i more suspect it's dropped a ring), really can't afford either repairs atm so unfortunately i have to sell.
The person i bought this off couldn't tell me much as the previous owner unfortunately passed, however i will try and describe to the best of my ability
Engine is the 3l 7MGTE, has a K&N pod filter attached and i'll also include a brand new unopened box of cleaner and oil. also appers to be fitted with an aftermarket wastegate(at a guess maybe running around 10psi?) when originally purchased it had a noise that i originally thought to be from the top end(though now i suspect it may have been the piston slapping around), also had a miss under load which i suspect to be the badly deteriorated ignition leads. apart from that pulled reasonably well. Also running a Microtech ECU (hidden in behind the glovebox)
Gearbox shifted fine, no crunching of the synchros, stayed in gear, shifter has a bit of free play but this is easily remedied with a shifter rebuild kit from AJPS which can be had for a pittance.
Diff had a slight whine coming from it, no freeplay though
Body is straight as, doesn't look like it's ever been in a crash, paint's also reasonable for age
Rust was coming through the scuttle panel, hatch and the front panel, however i replaced these with rust free items i'd kept off the previous vehicle, small bits of spotting here and there. also some rust in the wheel well(obviously from having a leaky hatch for so long) and a small bit of bubbling from the inside of the drivers door
mechanically the car seemed very reasonable, steering felt reasonably tight and there wasn't any unwanted knocks from anywhere( though i haven't had this car up on a hoist so can't guarantee all bushes are A1)
Also fitted with a hayman reese tow bar
only been out of reg since the start of the month, previously engineered, have a few papers to say it was confirmed through vicroads so might be somethinig worth chasing up
