Hi,

Bought a car the other week that has cheap wheels and nuts and one of them is broken (refer to picture)

How would you remove it?

I was just going to drill small holes in it since it's light alloy and chisel it till it breaks, or is there a better way..

You risk damaging the wheel if you drill the nut.
I'd try getting a old socket and smashing it onto whats left of the nut then taking it off with a breaker bar.
If that fails prob better to just drill the stud (along with the nuts thread) out with a good quality metal bit.
You'll have to get a new stud after tho obviously.

Do this. Will work.

Remember to use a low speed an lots of cutting oil/grease/material on the drillbit.

Try using a big socket first, you might get lucky.

Did you get it of? Those wheels nuts are nasty, I bought some of those cause i had extended studs, they almost stuffed the studs due to the crappy material.

Nope i haven't even got it off yet, i'm raging so fucking hard at the last person that owned this car. He has done every single wheel up with a air gun full potential. Every single one of those wheel nuts has twisted in someway on removal.

(Never buy those wheel nuts & never do them up tight)

Last option is to drill the stud out and just replace it and the rest of them because they will snap eventually from over tightening them.

if it is done up that tight its possible the thread stud has been raped a bit aswell so probably wouldnt hurt to replace it anyway.
also, that looks like you were having trouble getting it off and put a breaker bar on there and jumped on it?
