hey lads.

as some may know, i have made a mess of my right hand. ill be off work for 10 to 12 weeks, and my eright hand will be useless till the pin comes out in 6 weeks.

i have a beaten up old ke70 that was meant to be getting all kinds of crazy stuff that i have collected, but i cant do anything right now.

This means im currently unable to drive, cos the mrs car is manual lol.

if anyone can help me get my ke70 running, as its auto, it means i would be able to get myself to my doctor appointments, all an hour away, and i would be able to do small things to help my wife out without her needing to take time off.

she is a stocko 4k auto. starts and runs, but the "go" jets in the carby dont work, meaning anything other than idle and she stalls.

im shit at general mechanicing and have no idea about pre efi engines.

im about 5 minutes from deloraine in the mid north. i have some basic tools, but most of my stuff is in ulverstone, an hour away at work.

if ANYONE is able to help, i cant tell you how much it would be appreciated...

happy to offer parts or cash or food and beer as remuneration.

thanks guys.

You sure its not an electrical problem? I could bring my mate (qual mech) along with me if you want.

you mean disco? if so, ive avoided asking him cos im pretty sure they are under the pump to get the car ready for highland. if im wrong that would be well wicked, he is onl just down the road lol.

just got back from hospital and the post op check by the hottie plastics med student. she read me the riot act about doing anything...ANYTHING , with the hand involving tools. Insert witty penis joke here.

so just got back from hospital, decided to charge the battery, as its been sitting ignored for 4 weeks.

pop the bonnet and drop the charger on, dam thing says fully charged.

no probs, head in for keys to give it a run up.

nothing. wont turn over. Wont even click, just this high pitched clicking from the drivers footwell...

wtf ?????

could, should, most likely is something other than carb, prob electrics... fark... :(

As for starting - flick key from "on" to "start" quickly until the solenoid gets its shit together. All corollas do that.

Stalling - Is the rod from the carby to gearbox connected?

^^ lol mine does the same thing when the starter doesn't want to engage. I stick it in first, take the handbrake off, hold the key on start and bounce back and forth in the car wildly until the starter flicks over. Then step on the clutch really quickly so it doesn't take off. (not recommended when parked near other cars lol ) Also in my car the fuel pumps and ecu are on isolation switches so I switch them off and turn the key to start again and hey presto the bitch starts turning, keep turning it over and flick the switches back on and she lives!! My car and I have a special relationship hahaha
