This was the start of my old build thread when i first started the car which i was going to run an s13 setup but due to it being more head fucking than your younger sister i changed my mind to run complete toyota front end

heres a link to my old thread if you wanna have a suss

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php/64870-Nissan-KE70-SR20-Build

it has come along way since then

sleeper_13
23rd November 2011, 08:43 PM
since then there is a nice big hole in the firewall which is in the process of being welded up (pics will be up soon) and is now being supported by a nice standard xmember with custom mounts with AJPS Coilys with 86 knuckles hubs and brakes.

Also came across some BC height and dampener adjustable rear shocks
22992

sleeper_13
23rd November 2011, 08:55 PM
i also sent my diff to BOSS Diffs up in lonsdale to get what one of my mate corey got done to his 31 diff

which basically was getting the sleeves of the ke70 diff cut off and the sleeves of the 31 diff get cut off and welding the ke70 sleeves onto the 31 center with a mini spool and shortening the axles a maximum of 12mm. (pics coming of the rear setup)

put all the standard arms back in except for an AJPS adjustable panhard rod.

Was also pondering around what wheels i want to run i found these at my work which was what i wanted to run on the rear
22994

but it was going to be abit hard to run 15x10 -25 with a diff still wider than the standard one

so i picked a set of these steelies up
22995
which were 15x8 -9 4x114.3 which sounded pretty good until i tried to fit them in the guards and this happened
22996

sleeper_13
23rd November 2011, 09:00 PM
so im in the middle of 're-sculpting' my rear guards
22997

sleeper_13
23rd November 2011, 09:02 PM
Heres just a pic of what the front looks like so far with the flared guards ( camber tops coming soon to bring the wheels in the guards)

What issues did you have with s13 stuff upfront man?

sleeper_13
23rd January 2012, 09:34 PM
Hey mate, just getting everything to line up perfectly and getting a uni joint for the steering rack as the ke and the s13 ones don't fit, was just easier using all ae86 gear so don't have to worry about different castor arm brackets and that other mambo jumbo

luke04
23rd January 2012, 10:13 PM
Just weld the steering shafts together lol! not sure what uni's are on mine but pretty sure its just chopped down the center and welded togther

in terms of the castor rod stuff, just ke gear and redrill the LCA to suit

sleeper_13
23rd January 2012, 10:17 PM
Yeah a little late now as all the 86 gear is already in, a couple of my mates have s13 front ends so it will be good to see if we can feel a difference in handling

Is there gap between the shock thread and the bearing of the camber plates, you will probably have to find some of these nuts that suit you thread pattern and then probably get them machined to fit between the thread and bearing
http://www.bakemono-imports.com/rs25/m14nuts.jpg

sleeper_13

MATSURI WRAP UP

So yesterday was 10/10 Matsuri at mallala day started out well towed it out there in my new tow car for the first time and was all good, sunrise on the way out to mallala was pretty good aswell was a pity i couldnt get my good camera out whilst driving!

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/1/3/9/8/2/505847.jpg

Ive also got this number that seems to follow me around which is 911 like every time i go to check my phone at night or in the morning.....bang 9:11! i got to the servo filled up the ke70 and some jerry cans and turned to look at the pump and BAM

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/1/3/9/8/2/505848.jpg

unloaded the car off got ready for the scrutineers check, rolled on up everythings all sweet then he points to me only having 2 wheel nuts on both front wheels i explained to him i just put these wheels on to cart the car around the track whilst my other wheels are getting bead blasted on, he didnt care so had to go back through with new wheels on but the very start of a thread was the tiniest bit rooted and you could not get a nut on the end without cross threading so had to angle grind it down! went back through and all sweet!

got on the track first few laps were loose as shit! car felt totally different to last time i drove it it was down on power as i was reading the boost gauge it was only hitting 8-9 psi instead of 13psi which was annoying, couldnt use 3rd through the whole esses like i used to be able to then came the time for me to have my first date with a tyre stack, getting airborn isnt the most ideal date. My wheel caught on the guard earlier on aswell and pulled it in so it ruined that had to get the old plier flare out.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/1/3/9/8/2/505849.jpg
http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/1/3/9/8/2/505850.jpg

after getting used to the car i was getting alot better at driving and can now get a good line between corner 1 and 2 for the first time which i was happy about! at one point the track temp was pretty hot i only got 4 laps out of a pair of new ATR's shit was crayer then cray! also i was sweating ore than a pedo in a playground! shit was hot out there yesterday!

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/1/3/9/8/2/505851.jpg

inbetween breaks i had a play with my camera and got some shots.

It has been a while since an update but alot has changed visually and performance wise

First off my missus and I spent hours sanding and prepping the car for some paint, first time painting a car with an actual gun, last 3 times were with ironlaks. came out pretty decent, its far from a show car, no clear coat as the paintwork is far from finished and will never need a clear.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/515550.jpg

Here's a pic of my new motor freshly built, will probably push out to many ponies that the sr box will handle so will have to dull the tune down a bit.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/515551.jpg

Old motor came out and sold off to a mate of mine.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/515552.jpg

Pulled it out of the shed to get a look at how the colour looks in daylight, pretty happy with how it turned out the paint work is far from finished at this point.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/515553.jpg

Here's a pic of whats to come with the rest of the paint work with the ke70

Car got tuned with the new motor in made 220rwkw running in on 15psi should loosen up abit and sit comfortably around the 230rwkw mark

Have done a couple of drift pracs in this since the last update.

Needs 4.11s and smaller cams, Hitting full boost around 4000rpm and should be around the 3500rpm mark need to get some 256's instead of these 264's. Still need to get used to the new setup as its so different to drive.
