OK so here i am going to show you how to install a Holden vr commie air box into your ke70 cut and shut small port / cut and shut bigport i don't know if the jdm bigport manifold will work due to the throttle body facing down but i am unsure

1:find yourself a fucked up Holden vn-vs get ur air box out of it
2:cut inside of the box until it fits like in the pics demonstrated
3:make up a couple of brackets like illustrated in the pics
4:use the existing coupler to mark the hole needed to run intake to the wright spot
5:u will need to move ur charcoal canister down onto the cross member yes you can keep ur charcoal canister
6:make yourself a block of plate and bolt all the shiz in
7:u will need to get rid of ur washer bottle and overflow bottle i moved my overflow bottle in front of the rad support if u have money u might be able to use an ae86 jdm washer bottle but ill let u blokes sort that out

the end result is fairly stock looking also has a good power curve compared to not running a filter at all or a pod filter alternatively u can give me a pm so i can pass on a message to Adam at kurnell customs who hepled me do this airbox

Looks great. I bet it breathes well. Perhaps try to seal the cutout with rubber and draw your air via a feed from the front?

or out the bonnet but yes very useless on a road cars just a cop magnet with a pod and asking for an epa inspection

hahaha so true! I like my pod in just behind the bumper, right in the airflow and out of view still. But its really good to finally see someone making something look less modified and more legal in this forum, its quite a shock. Well keep up the good work.

sam q nice to see you like it i have had many cops look under the hood and say "clean" so no defects or epa notice for me and this is in no way engineered and hasn't been for years with this motor lol

thats really cool, i like it! so simple and neat. just need to fix up the wiring and stuff on hanging around on the passenger side.

if you did that, it could look like a factory unit.

This looks really clean and is a great idea. With pod filters i used to have one on a previous car, only comment i ever heard from a cop was that it needed to be mounted to a fixed bracket. I had at least three look under my bonnet and not defect me for it. Are pod filters meant to be in a sealed box ? Been reading up on them so far all i have heard is they make more noise.

any chance of re-attaching original images if you've still got them - seem to have disappeared?

thanks it looks good. I didn't realise you'd cut the bottom out to both fix it and make it sit a little lower. i just trial fit one and it seemed like it would foul the hood

lol whats with every airbox open/broken and EVERY filter missing from 20+ commodores at the self serve wrecker i just went to, damn bogans can't afford a NEW filter?
