After a year of purchasing it for $1000 finally started working on the project. Basically it is a granny spec 1982 XX model Ke70 running a 4K with a filthy auto. Has some shitty GL model tailights from Thailand atm (have some proper genuine Toyota GL tailights coming http://ceres.rollaclub.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/dancing.gif )

Will be cool but god damn that's a lot to pay for a rusted out KE70. Mine I just bought was $1200 with rego and RWC with only spot of rust below the fuel door.

My old one I gave up on was rusted where your's was looks like all the same places around the boot. got much down the bottom where the two panels meet behind the bumper? or down the bottom sides of each side of the boot behind the rear wheel arches? Also where the rubber drain plugs are behind the rear arches for the boot?

You have a LOOOONNNGGGG road ahead of you if you plan to fix all that up right. I gave up on repairing it and just cut the whole ass end off and used a little bit better ass end which still needed repairing and welded in some new panels. I got to the point of bogging and did that then just decided to buy a car in good nick.
Its hard to find panels for those boot sections not rusted. Even bought some off members from interstate on here that said yeah mate the car has no rust at all so they send me the panels that they cut off and once I get them they'd been repaired before or had rust in them.
Check my old page if you wan't pretty sure you'll be doing along the exact same lines. Page 8,22 and 23 is where you wanna look.

All I can say is I hope you're well motivated!

Yea the main rust is around the boot seal and the rear gurads. A bit of work is needed in that respect but I'll get through it in time. Need to find a donor with a good ass end too. Might even end up just welding in one whole piece IF I find a good one. Its a bit of a hurdle but I'll get through it :yeah:

Everything I have is new old stock, so still in the genuine boxes. I found a good connection through rollaclub.com.
The the fronts are genuine but the rear ones were fabricated that the guy that I bought all that stuff from. Tomorrow I can get in contact with him.. Or if you want to get in contact with him, it's from overseas.

Ah yea not the biggest fan of the CA... I'm just using the SR from my s13 can't be stuffed fixing the body on it...
As for the diff not too sure... How strong is the jdm disc to disc t-series against an sr with over 200kws.?!

Also I just picked up a ke70 today with only one minor rust spot on it!
Downfall is its defected but an easy pass through regency. So I'll be starting my base with it instead. Will post pics up later...

Using s13 front end, cutting mounts of the ke crossmember and welding the s13 ones on when fitting the sr20.

Motor should just bolt straight on if toure using the s13 crossmember

Yea nah read around and found using the s13 crossmember throws the geometry out in the 70.

Yeah alot of mixed opinions, simons old ke70 was running a s13 front end and is a very well known competition car

I say its personal preferance, alot of toyota people hate the s13 setup because they hate nissan, just do what you want, personally modifying the standard xmember is easier and you dont have to worry about drilling new castor rod bracket holes, custom uni joint for the steering and so on

How so?

if you are using s13 knuckles hubs etc unless you plan on using the s13 crossmember you will run into hideous issues with steering bind even at minimal lock, you can forget any modifications to suspension geometry, forget aggressive castor specs

if you are adamant on staying with an e7 crossmember you will have to move the rack forward a great distance to overcome this

steering shaft? cut and shut
the main reason silvia gear is avoided is people do it half way (e7 crossmember), realize its a pile of shit and then can the whole idea of the setup

poorly formed opinions

Really just after the best option that would work properly so wouldn't have to do the job twice
