Hey guys, i know next to nothing with rims, and tbh i want something that looks along the lines of superlites or, rota RB's and i was wondering what size rims should i get?

The front of the car is 350mm from the bottom of the guard to the exact centre of the wheel, and the back is 335mm. Also, the back is banana springs or whatever u call them, and if i should lower it, by how much and how would i go by doing this?

Is there anything else you guys would like to know before you give me any advice? thanks in advanced!

Rear lowering in a car with leaf springs (banana springs as you called them) can be achieved by either re-setting the springs (correct/best way, pay a reputable shop to do) or fitting a lowering block between the diff and the plate where the U bolts go through and shocker mounts to.

Front can be done by a number of methods, without changing shocks in your standard front struts you will only be able to go down in height a limited amount. The quickest easiest way is dodgey (cutting a coil off your existing spring) and not really ideal. It is probably better to replace original spring with a shorter slightly stiffer spring. Be careful how you go about modifying your front end though, the KE70 front struts are smaller in diameter than the more common 2 inch struts like what's fitted to AE86 / RA40 Celica / XT130 Corona etc.. so if you need to change shocks you're most likely better off going to a larger strut. I'm using XT130 struts in my AE71 but with a lot of modifications.

There's a lot of info about suspension here on DC. Some good and some bad. Have a bit of a search, I'll be putting a tech article up soon on how to build your own front coilovers so maybe keep an eye out for that.

As for wheels if you're using it as a daily driver and want something sensible I'd stay with 14's. Superlites in 14's are available as a 6 inch wide wheel according to their website in three offsets. Best of the three would be 12P or +12. The original Japanese rim of this style is called Watanabe, which I think look heaps better and come as 6.5inch and 7inch widths if you're patient in your searching before buying. You can go to 15's too, it gives you more tyre options but you will have less cushioning/comfort. They're cheaper to buy new as well as there's a lot of aftermarket rims.

Here's a crap offset set of 6's but at least you can see how nice the shape of the wheel is...

Cheap 7's in sensible offset with watanabe/superlite style...

Depends what the car will be used for. I have a neat tidy KE70 pano and I'm happy with MA61 alloys. They are a strong original factory Toyota wheel which is the correct hub size and fits straight on filling the gaurds. With clear coat removed they polish up sweet too (alot of effort required)

14X7 Watanabe would be the best to look out for if you have your heart set on a "superlite" style of wheel. Just be prepared to do some light restoration work on old used wheels though.
