i was bout to ask if you were going to ruin a mint condition corolla like most other people on this forum do when they find such a nice clean original car.......then i read on, such a pity.

no wonder an average ke70 is worth 4000 these days, instead of the 1000 they should be going for :right:

KE-DORI
17th April 2012, 11:31 AM
haha ive been told by all my mates, dont wreck it leave it original.. I wanna make it a drift car in near future..

I got offered $3500 just after i bought it. I turned it down.. id rather a orig rolla then a turd commodore or something!!

It's cool that you found a ke that is straight and clean, but it really is going to get hammered at the track.

Find a beater. Cut, bend, pull straight.

KE-DORI
18th April 2012, 09:19 PM
Stahlz, no thanks mate wanna keep this

Cheers davo, hopefully looks and drives sick when im down:thumbup:

Joeschmo, ive had plent of turd ke's, they were pure shit.. this ones different hence why i wanna make it a track car (handles and drives great)

Your AE71 front end will need to be binned if you intend on doing anything serious with the handling/braking. Choose some struts from something with a 51mm tube like XT130 Corona, RA40 Celica (nice big stub axle) or even AE86 if you like wasting money for crap brakes (and smaller bearings/stubs). Clean up the struts and give them to Shockworks (site sponsor). I just got my full set made by them off RA40 Celica stubs and the quality is tops. It costs a very similar amount of coin to build your own front coilovers using sleeve kit and buying everything separate and with the Shockworks stuff you get much better dampers than anything else on market, height adjustment independent of spring load etc.. I've built 3 sets of coilovers so far but for similar money this seems so much better. Chris took me for a drive in Brett's R34 with the same 45mm piston and it handles 10 times better than my mates similar skyline with BC's. Can't wait to get mine into the car, waiting on ps knuckles to arrive and just doing finishing touches on caliper brackets, then in they go.

Oh sweet, thanks alot mate..

Probs just leave it stock for awhile, whether to decide coilovers or not..

Your white AE looks tops, dont wanna sell the ma's do ya ;)

stahlz_ae86
21st April 2012, 10:59 PM
That white AE71 is now stripped and nearly converted back to original/ready to sell, bought another one with an SR. I'm waiting to hear back from a guy in SA who wants the MA's. Cheers for the compliment on the old toy though it was a good fun car, just doing it all better on the new one. I can take ya for a burn in the new toy once the sussy is if you need help deciding to upgrade :P

KE-DORI
22nd April 2012, 11:17 AM
No worries stahlz, i wanna make this white, chrome bars etc..

Yeh let us know when ya get your new ke.. SR should be fun as :) before this AE i had a S13, SR20 non turbo, coilovers, adjustable casterbars, locked diff.. that thing went nuts in the wet haha keen to see what it would be like in a rolla

Dove grey, dunno if your trying to be a smartass, if your are, keep your comments to your self.. as you sound like a f**k wit!!

shift_rook
22nd April 2012, 01:10 PM
Also those guys are right. if you were just doing that rust repair to get it rwc then that's fine but don't expect it to last very long, it's like cancer man, you leave the tiniest little bit and it's bubble back in no time

KE-DORI
22nd April 2012, 01:12 PM
Yeah i know it will come back, thats just to pass RWC!

Thanks alot Shift rock, ill let ya know in about a week or so.. how much you chasing for your 4AGE?

Im thinking of doing the conversion before i get my license back :)

other guys are paying you out for your plans to ruin a mint car and you have a go at me for stating the fact that your
Fixed the rust on it, with fiberglass body filler! isnt the right way about it. you should have atleast used a rust converter. also so long as the rust is not structural you dont have to fix it for RWC.
cheers

KE-DORI
26th April 2012, 01:37 PM
I know other guys are paying me out, for a different matter.. I reacon i wont be wrecking it by doing the things i will do to the AE!

Every one cnd have a dig at me for it, at the end of the day its my car!

And for the rust matter, ive been around cars long enough to realize that bogging it isnt good! What i should have done is cut the rust out and weld new bits of metal in there..

Sorry if i offended you in anyway, but i dont like people trying to diss me about something i already know!

Thanks

Sweet ride mate.
I'm a lil jealous that you got such a nice AE for so little coin, well done!

Sprinter86
5th May 2012, 01:22 AM
Man, i love that your gonna track this thing! perfect base for a heap of fun!!

I really get confused when people say not to 'ruin' it lol, it cost you 350 bucks, and its a near 30 year old corolla, who gives a fuck, its not a one owner trueno gt apex or datto 1600, beat the fuck out of it, be the most fun you will ever have for the money!!

Good Luck!

lildavo
7th May 2012, 12:10 AM
Amen Sprinter86...They're hardly prestigious cars. Gut the shit out of it, theres about a million more corollas out there.

Any progress on this?

Did you decide on coilovers? With my old rolla I used xt130 struts ands got springs and shocks to suit my needs, but really for the money I spent on the struts+shocks+springs+fixing the old ass corona brakes I should of just got coilovers or converted to coilovers. Thats not to say my setup wasn't good but coilovers would of been more simple, plus I could have the wank factor of coilovers.

KE-DORI

No updates on the AE ATM, found out in loosing my license for an extra 6 months :(..

So either sell it an get a dirtbike?! Or build it up 4age etc..

I like this idea of corona xt LCA, do they just bolt straight up?

Cheers

shift_rook

Yeah the corona LCAs bolt up. If you sell let me know.

If someone wants it they can have it for a reasonable price..

Just Cas I got it cheap doesn't mean I'm gunna sell it cheap.. Its up to who ever wants it names a price..

Not in a rush to sell as ive been thinking about it, I'm gunna paint it, fix every panel, turn it into a flat front..
Undecided on the color if I should keep it orig or go a nice blue??

Hopefully find a cheap 4age an manual before December ;)

Thanks guys!

KE-DORI

Yeh I know I stuffed the add's up, but if you were calling me asking me about the car I would say I'm the second owner!

Who really cares what im asking for it, you guys are just jelous cas
i found a mint corolla!

If I'm asking 3500 for the car, doesnt mean you guys need to buy it. Someone that is really keen on a clean corolla will pay the 3500.

It's not clean considering its full of fibreglass filler lol

KE-DORI
1st June 2012, 05:59 PM
Considering it has f**k all fiberglass filler.. Unlike every other ke/AE out there!

Unless its been rapaired.

I don't understand why my car is such drama, if I put a post up I get bagged out if I've done something the quick way. It's not a $100,000 car it's a 1984 corolla.

If you have an issue with my car or how I fix/paint/repair it please don't post as I want positive feedback not negative.
