Ok, I have some bad news....

I had an accident last saturday and my Gold AE86. The car did not come off too well....

In my opinion, the chassis is unrepairable, as there was a ripple in the firewall! But yet to hear the insurance companys official assessment....
I dont have any pics of the car, as it was towed away....

Many Canberran's know it and was class winner at the ACT hillclimb in 2011.... It has been my pride and joy for 6 years, and have loved my moments with the old girl.....

Here is a link to the build thread with a couple of pics of the rock and guardrail corner I hit..... The wombat was unhurt......

wow i feel for you man, that was an epic hit......most important thing is you are ok, car can be rebuilt everyday of the week, lives cant. Its only money.

Insurance cover it? what the plan forwards now? will you get the car back?

maxhag
20th June 2012, 05:01 PM
Yeah, car is fully insured...... Thats all being processed now...... Should be all sorted in a week.....

The car has had a good 6 years with me, getting fully built by myself, competed in many events (grip, drift, motorkhanas, hillclimbs), car was the 2011 ACT Hillclimb Winner - 1st in class, and had much more sentimental value more than anything really.....

And yeah, I will be buying the wreck back, but wont be selling anything guys. Will be keeping just about everything to use again........ (I do own more than one 4AGTE AE86 :P :P :P)

But, I am looking to buy another drift car VERY SOON. Cant go for too long without drift life....... If anyone hears of any decent cars for sale, shoot me a pm..... thanks....
I have been offered a local car very cheap (but good)... A Sil80, with a RB25 making 400kw, very clean car..... It's not a Toyota, but is an option to get me drifting again....... Would quite like a JZX90 too..... Or obviously, another well built AE86 .......

I cant be fucked building another car at the moment, and just want to buy something already built for now........

Heavy impact! :( Im glad to know your alright, life comes before cars.

When you mentioned JZX90 I remembered that this is forsale, http://hardtuned.net/forums/index.php?app=classifieds&module=core&do=view_item&item_id=9045

Really sad to read about this mate but like a few have already said, it's great that you're ok after a hit like that. Still sucks after everything you've put into that car but I look forward to seeing what you do with those other 86s, especially that blue one ;)

So I take it you have sold the other one Robbo?

I need to do something with mine, it is sitting out in the weather gathering cobwebs.....

and yes JoJo got a new shell for a steal.

The car is down here, but work is nuts this year so I just don't have the time (or the space) to be stuffing around with it. I tried starting it a couple of months ago and it wouldn't fire so I got the shits and went back to playing with the might boy.

The mighty boy is coming along ok though, took it down to Ed at Autotech and chucked it on the dyno. Put down a massive 29kw atw but it was leaning out in the top end. When I get some more time I will fit up the ITB's that I have for it and wire in a loom for the Adaptronic from the Sprinter.

Let me know when you want me to pop over so I can make a start. I am pretty busy but if I start now I can just keep plugging away to get it done for you.

P.S. The paint on mine is rooted now as well from the overspray from when I did the Mighty Boy. Apparantly 2 pack doesn't just wipe off :)
