Hey guys,

I'm in need of a wheel repairer. Fucked up my wheels a few hours ago and it no longer holds air.

I've got a list of wheel repairs listed below but was just wondering if anyone's had experience with them. If you've had good experiences with any other places, please post them up!

Wheels to be repaired are SSR 3 piece meshies.

hey adam, hows it going? ooo sorry to hear bout your rims.. i also own a set of ssr meshies they cam on the adm sprinter i bought last year from a guy named ronald.. he smashed a rim yet it still hols air.. more to the point, i work at mercedes in the city and we send all of our rims to advanced alloys in moorabbin (even if theyre worth $5000 each!) although they are unbelieveably good at what they do and hav only one quality of perfect that emerges from theyre workshop, they have a policy that if they look at it and think they cannot fix it they wont even touch it. i tried to get mine fixed (still holds air n they wont.) so i can only imagine what yours looks like! good luck... pm if i can help you with anything!! jay!

Cheers Jay. Yeah, from a little reading I've heard Advanced Alloys reject quite a few wheels if they think it won't be safe after repair. Will have to drop by and show them to find out.

ajax are good, we had a set of 12 slotters that needed the offset changed and there jobs are really well done and thorough, may be worth giving them a ring

hammer? doe that a few times to my mates ssr mesh and it comes out fine.

Thanks, DRFTR86. Ajax seem like the people to go to at the moment.

Hammering it out myself would be the last option man. If it had been my older pair of wheels, I would go at it myself, but the ones I just fucked up are too mint. I've got a pair of wheels to run on while I get these fixed so should be right.

Really thinking of getting a set of skidders instead of running my 'proper' wheels trying to be a hard cunt and saying 'why buy good wheels if you're not gonna put them to good use.' :hehe: Shit happens...

i got my rim "looked at" for about 3 seconds by ace alloys, and was rejected.

took it to AJAX wheels in moorabbin (found them on yellow pages, i suggested them in the forums) they spun it around a few times, and said it could be done.

picked it up the next day. great job on it.

highly highly recommend. theyve been doing it for 15 years.

Cheers for the replies guys.

I've heard good things about Neway wheel repairs, Coburg Mag and that place down near Philip Island, but really after someone local for now.

The 3 places posted in first post are all within 10min drive from each other so that makes things a little easier. :P

Fucken hell Adam!

What the hell did you do to your rims? Run up a curb or something?

Get new wheels like a set of thick 5 spokes. LOL!

Another vote for Ajax here. I know the family and they are perfectionists.

Never do it yourself with a hammer if you care about the rim. That will f*** it royally and never be repairable. Weakens everything too.

+1 for new way wheels I got a rim fixed that was similar to yours but it also had pretty bad crack in it and they fixed it up quite well

Sweet as, thanks guys. I'll give you a buzz if the 3 places reject me, Dave.

I'm hoping the wheels can be fixed. There's no cracks or anything I can see. I've got a mate ripping the tyres off them, will take a closer look on the inside to see if there's any more damage.

The curb ran into me! :right:

hi adam, doesnt seem as bad as i thought by the picture? but could look worse in real life, i had a similar hit in one of my old rims, bad thing about meshies is that since their such a lightweight wheel people are scared of them, they heated mine up and hammered it lightly and almost looked 90% to origional shape then they hit it again and cracked.. so they shaved that part off and rewelded a plate to replace it n shaved it to same shape so it is a bit dangerous with these light 80's wheels, hope u find the right guy mate.

Ouch.. Yeah, I'm most worried about that, cracking or more damage while getting it repaired.

As long as I can drive on them again without it looking too stuffed I'll be happy. Fingers crossed..

So far, Advanced Alloys have said they can't fix the dent due to it being bent in the wrong direction. Normally buckles push the lip out so their machine can only fix those types. Ajax are closed today, that Ace place doesn't exist at the posted address anymore. Wheel Works in Dandenong are closed for the weekend also.

Will visit those places again Tuesday. Hopefully the wheel will be fixed before Winton! I don't wanna slide on gay ass stockies..

I ended up getting my wheels repaired by Ajax in Mentone. They did a very good job. Couldn't ask for more.

Will post some pics up tomorrow or something.

Just little ripples around the lip. Barely noticeable.

From how it was originally, I can't complain.
