Car: 4AGE ae71
Defect Reason: "performance engine swap", aftermarket seats, front brake upgrade, 15" wheels too big, Eyebrow height to low (real ride hieght was 140mm at the lowest point, but eyebrow hieght was lower 50mm and 70mm which apparently requires engineering), coilovers, camber adjustable strut tops. Pretty sure there was other stuff but I can't remember.
Fine: none
Fixed by: Cancelling rego, and taking the car off road for 6 months while I got it ready for engineering. I showed the car to the engineer the day of the defect and he reckoned everything would pass fine except I needed a charcoal cannister, I needed a filter on the oil catch can, I needed to tape up the thread on my coilovers so it looks like they won't go lower and I needed to pretend it still and standard engine management. Ended up having issues with the front track width which meant that I had change to some 13's with a more positive offset which meant I couldn't keep the big brakes on. Which also meant that with the eyebrow height set to where I wanted it to be my real ride hieght was 40mm lower and only just legal. The engineering that was only meant to cost a $100 or so according to the policeman ended up costing almost $2000 from the moment I cancelled the rego to the moment I drove it again.

Car: MA61
Defect Reason: To low, to wide, not enough suspension travel, no horn button, general badassery. Surprisingly he didnt get me for the Bride...
Fine: Can't remember
Fixed By: putting some large wheels with high profile tyres on, stock steering wheel and a friendly mechanic :D
Time to fix: An hour?

Next time i lost my mechanic and the car was kept off the road as it was far to thug to be put back on, was sold for pennies and stripped. Guessing the corona will share a similar fate but this time i have coilovers front and rear for easy height adjustment.
