I figure there should be a thread where we can list the places we go to or have a good rep for Sprinters or just in general.

If you suggest people I'll add them to this title post so we can get a comprehensive list.

Body Work/Panel Beating:

Jay (0433 766 010) or Mick (0438 180 068) from Colourworks in Thornleigh. Not exactly what I'd call Sprinter "specialists", but they've done a great job on mine getting 25 years worth of rust cut out, fixing bits of prior accident damage here and there, plus a re-spray.

Beck - what was the damage for getting ur body work done plus re-spray

Beck
19th January 2009, 09:57 PM
More than I'm comfortable admitting? :embarassed:

In hindsight, I probably should have just bought a better shell once they took off the rear bumper and saw the state the cancer was at. There was an absolute metric shit-tonne of rust, and I kept insisting that things be repaired "properly" with as little bog as possible. All up with bodywork and paint I'm in for about 9k. Car's good for another 25 years though. :) They definitely do good work if you ask them to.

a friend of mine went there and asked about sprinter parts last weekend they said they don't deal with "sprinter shit" what do they deal with?

Phife
5th March 2009, 05:30 PM
I get my stuff from LSI (details) (http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/l-s-i-japanese-auto-parts/campsie) they helped out finding old stock for my RT40 Corona, knew what it was too.
They are general spare parts store not 'sprinter specialists' but they are generally well priced compared to Repco etc. Owners name funnily is Jackie Chan, runs Toyota's for parts delivery.

Just Engine Management and Mechanical. aka JEM

Ingleburn, williams st

Really knows their stuff. And if they dont know it then it isnt worth knowing in the first place probably.

Can be $$$ but no worse then any other workshop these days.

Atleast i know the job will be done right the first time. A lot of big players go there, so they must doing something right.

I couldnt be happier with my haltech and 20v install.

OK so I'm sick of seeing rust so can anyone direct me to a decent body repairer/smash repairer/ welder that won't cost me an arm and a leg? If they can paint thats a bonus. Somewhere nearby the Shire/bankstown/st george are if possible.

Decided I'd put it here instead of starting a new thread.

What about the contact details of any importers in the area. Unfortunately there aren't many site sponsors from NSW so a local alternative for importing of parts and whole cars would be great.

I think Paul (sexy16) does some importing, not sure if it's for business or not, so if he would mind maybe we could post his details up here for anyone looking to import.

preferably somewhere good with 4age's and NA

SEXY 16
5th September 2009, 11:26 PM
any good engine builder can build a solid end
if you have plenty of coin use wilkins peformance engines in seven hills
a lot of the arc guys get there engines built there and he built the wrc hyundai team used him till they relocated to the uk
highly recomended

he redone my 7a!

trueno85
6th September 2009, 01:20 AM
not entirely sure how much i should budget to get the bottom end rebuilt, hoping it will be less than 2k if i supply the pistons, rings, pins and headgasket

so thats what your putting in the white one in your garage!

Gunner
6th September 2009, 07:26 AM
its not the building of the motor that costs, its machining.

Pulse racing build pretty good engines

trueno85
7th September 2009, 01:33 AM
yeah i know that, I just use the term building to generalise all the work

i know its difficult to quote on a rebuild but would a get much change from 2k just for the bottom end?

would just like to add to Wyong tyre, battery and mechanical.
they have lots of 4A-GE Experience, Karl was working for toyota when the Corolla SX (4A-GE corolla) came out and has been to toyota school for the 4A-GE.
and apparently a standard small port 4A-GE when new would rev out passed 9k
so i guess you could say hes a 4A-GE specialist.

a bit of a nudge here. Looking to get an alarm system installed into the 86, so I'm looking for a decent auto electrician to set one up for me. If anyone has used one within about 40mins of the shire that would be great, I don't really mind travelling massive distances for a good value deal either.
