Found this on Gumtree 3-4 months ago. Old Italian bloke owned it since new. SR model so it came with the fresh to death boot lip and front lip. Plans are pretty simple for now while i don't have funds. Pretty much the same setup as my old supra minus the coilovers and i'm in love. When i do eventually get money it'll end up with an SR and hopefully end up in some comps for now it's a genuine streeter and i might take it to a couple of Winton fun days and maybe 1 drift day before the end of the year.

Unfortunately the rears are losing air again! So i'll be taking them back to where they came to get resealed again. Will be going to a fair few meets and cruises in her so i'll try and keep this updated with all her adventures.

Man SR models are so awesome. Looks like it will be pretty well set-up! Is it IRS or solid axel rear? Drums or discs on the back?

shift_rook
2nd August 2012, 06:12 PM
Drum live rear. Will do dual calliper R31 diff when i go SR. Will have to wait till after i'm back from Europe. Also take note the chrome trim on top of the front bar, that was under white paint(haven't gotten around to the rear yet) Because of the paint it has been kept new to after a little bit of presser pack paint stripper i had it looking golden. No plans to move this on at any point soon. I may even stick this one out for a couple of years.

nice one man. makes mine look like a junker

9 -27 will be a tight fit. THE white sedan in Japan runs the same under the rear with lots of camber

Diff blew on me last week. Turns out the old ARC welds weren't enough. Wound it right up and melted the buggery out of the spider gears, don't think it'll be going anywhere now. Could be taking this out for a run tonight. Badly need to go up in the rear spring rate as atm it's on stock choppies in the rear. Could really do with some more power too.

Doe anyone know what the deal is with off the shelf extractors for the 22R?

Seventy
13th August 2012, 02:08 PM
Plenty of extractors availiable on ebay from $160 posted, in this thread here http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php/19868-not-another-RT142/page3?highlight=extractors It says to get RJ70 ones, but I cant find anywhere in his thread saying if he ended up fitting them or not.

Anyway, heres the ebay link to the same headers http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Landcruiser-RJ70-Bunderra-22R-Extractors-Headers-New-/360478591763?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53ee32cb13#ht_500wt_1288

shift_rook
13th August 2012, 02:21 PM
I've read on toymods that the cruiser headers don't fit... I'll have to have another investigation.

Seventy
13th August 2012, 09:05 PM
Heres the others then http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1312&_nkw=22r+extractors&_sacat=See-All-Categories

shift_rook
13th August 2012, 09:16 PM
Yeah you could be right. After i come back form europe i may just save for another engine. At the end of the day no matter what i do to this 22R it still won't be nearly enough.

On a side note. If anyone from Vic ever feels like going for any meets or drives let me know. GOt a lot of spare time over the next 2 months and a perfectly running car just no one to drive with.

Seventy
13th August 2012, 09:32 PM
Yeah well if your set on the sr I wouldnt thrown too much money at the 22r

macca1590
14th August 2012, 08:40 PM
i have a set of RJ70 extractors that i payed 160 on ebay sitting in the shed, urs for 100 posted if you go that path, ended up getting the whole system done at a shop so they are left over, i think the shop used 4x4 hilux but had to cut 10mm outa the engine mount and in there words 'flex' them slightly so that it didnt point up onto the floor pan....

made a huge difference in the top end, extractors, resonator and sports muffler, 2.5 inch, then went mild cam from usa ebay for like 170 something posted with heaver valve springs and moved the power band up a bit further and made the whole lot even better, and took the afm spring 3 notches and wound a bit more ignition timing in with premium

bit of head work, cheep turbo cam also from ebay usa+ rebuld kit+ cheep ebay intercooler kit+ fuel pump . only big expense might be turbo/manifold and engine management, unless you go megasqurt??
and injectors, im sure there will be something that will be a direct replacement 2nd hand off another motor

would be a weppon

Back to MA61 wheels( i really do prefer it this way, looks ok and Police haven't pulled me over since.) Engine is a DE+T so high comp/low boost which used to make 180kwatw in the S13 it came out of, i'll be running a 2.5" exhaust with R34 GT-T airbox for factory freshness. So keen.

I hope your planning to grind/file all evidence of Nissan off this, I lightly filed Nissan off my AFM and am about to linish the letters off my rocker cover and then sandblast it and rub my dirty hands all over it for that dirty unloved look, also anything shiny gets painted satin black.

Money is my biggest problem at the moment, picked up a cheap lite ace for some Australia travels but the engine was cooked, so picked up a 5k... but that was cooked too, so now i have a rebuild i need to fund but i'll put the van to the side now and focus the next month of wages into finishing this Corona off, now to sell some things.
