quite a few engine swaps happening at the moment, but it always seems to be a toyota engine going in, oridos v8, speedhunters 2jz.
when is one of the subaru crowd going to put in a ej20t or 25t or whatever other good flat fours they have.
wouldnt mind seeing a new 86 with a flat 6 porche motor, or one of those flat 6 twin turbo jdm liberty motors.
first smashed 86?

some guys are running massive power out of their EJ's, why not stick with a subaru motor and keep the low center of gravity.
saw this video

one of the first things they do is cut out the firewall.

numbers would be good, driving footage would be better. BUT that would be heaps more fun to drive =).
still its a great canvas of a car, good to see more companys making stuff for them early on.
i like the idea of supercharging more, more control/response keeping inline with the whole its about how its delivered etc.
i still think the new 86 nailed the same thing the ae86 did, give people a cheap well balanced car with a FR layout and let all the tuning companys/owners do what they want with it

Quoted from another forum, not bad numbers but they are just numbers...

After tuning on low boost, the FR-S was fitted with a Haltech boost control kit and the boost was raised to 9psi. The result was an impressive 324 WHP on our Dyno Dynamics dyno!

For reference, this FR-S made 153WHP stock on our dyno (baseline dyno).

This turbocharged FR-S build consists of:

· Dynosty Scion FR-S Subaru BRZ Single Turbo Kit with Tial GT2871R Turbocharger

· Tial MVR 44mm Wastegate and Tial Blow Off Valve

· Injector Dynamics 850cc Fuel Injectors running E85

· Haltech Platinum Sport standalone engine management

· Haltech Wideband and Haltech Advanced Boost Control System

· Dyno Tune by Hal at Dynosty

· Traklite 18" Wheels

· BC Racing Suspension
