Super cool. Where are you able to drive it?

There is a group called TORC www.torc.org.au/ who have a dirt track in Kyton that I can get on to cheap, or the Portland sand dunes. Type in Portland dunes in Youtube for some videos.

At this stage it looks to be a surprisingly cheap hobby by motorsport standards.

This is a pic of what it used to look like about 10 years ago:

I am going to do it a little different but it should look quite similar.

Today I also had the entertaining idea of how this would go on a track with slicks on it, would it roll around a lot? or spin like crazy at higher speeds? Sure would lift get peoples attention if I took it to Winton

Is it an "EDGE" products design or is it some home made contraption?

These things look like so much fun, take a look at this bloke.....He has slowly morphed his "EDGE" buggy into a fairly bloody competitive missile and is competing in the WAORC.

This isn't from Edge. The easy way to tell is that their buggies are most almost completely of staraight lengths of pipe/tube so they can sell plans for people to make it themself. The story I got is that a group of guys from a club called "TORC" got together and had them made.

That buggy in the links looks pretty serious

Looks like heaps of fun Sam, look forward to some dirt track pics.

If you went to winton, I immediately think, run slicks, lower the suspension and chop the top of the cage ..but that aint gonna happen...

it's going to be a while and I vowed to finish pre-existing projects. However it's not going anywhere and I will eventually get to it. Pics will come in due time

Pre-existing projects??
Haven't followed your threads for a while Sam, ..saw you leaving winterfest a few months back, I was arriving late, so didn't get to catch up.. heard recently you got on with your beams project.. Is that true?

Jed it's been a while.

Well here goes: I admitted defeat with my Beams conversion as didn't have enough time and energy to do so, so instead of bought a pre-converted 3sgte. I found out the hard way that they are rather tall and would have to do serious mods to make it fit. Also it was insanely heavy - 190kg!!! so it was abandoned. So now I have gone full circle and am rebuilding my old 20v to some unconventional specifications.

Well jeez mate, at least you've given it a red got go..
190kg's is pretty heavy. Personally I think the 7A options have a lot to offer.. not sure how much they weigh, but not 190kg!
Good man for trying anyway!
Sometimes finding out the hardway is the only way..

I was impressed by the effortless power your 20v made, so future mods sound promising ..and this buggy looks like heaps of fun!

7A isn't much more than a 4a which is light. I am unsure which engine you got to feel in my car I have swapped engines a few times since then. I will send you a PM to talk more there.

Now for everyone else here is a pic with the airbox lid off, you have to love bike engines:
