Hey every one my name is brad, im located in the US and i have a 1983 Corolla wagon. Recently i have done a sr20det swap in it useing ae86 motor mount swap brackets and ae71 trans swap brackets. The swap is almost complete i am just in need of more advice on this swap on what too do next too get it running and how too keep it running (rear end, suspension, stuff like that) But right now were trying to figure out the wiring were tieing the sr20det harness into the stock 4ac harness soo i can keep head lights, blinkers, break lights stuff like that. But we cant figure out which wires in the ignition should go to what, we have the wires for the sr20det harness ready to plug in (ignition signal, and switch) just not sure what ( light blue/red is, black/red is, black white is and black yellow is) if anyone could help ide really appreciate it along with more info for this swap thanks. Excited too be a part of this forum and cant wait too learn more about my car.

It's all good but post it in the *e7* owners part. This is for Ae86-85s. Sounds like a good start to your project though man!

I've moved the thread... welcome aboard. Will be a fun car when you have finished it.
How far along with the wiring are you? Best bet is to to identify which wires were for the dizzy, ignition and mate them into the sr loom. Starter should be pretty easy to identify and mate up.

done everything but tie in the ignition wires too start the sr motor. we are not sure what wires too tap into is our problem

Do you have a wiring diagram for the sr?

hey man, recently done ca wiring to my ke70 and the sr loom is pretty much the same. I joined the ECU start signal wire and starter trigger together. Wire them to the ST2 (brown/red) wire opposite side to the key. For ignition snipped the IG (brown/white) wire and joined the new wires.
Hope this is what your after and the colors are the same.

yess i have sr diagrams, soo you put those two wires from the sr harness together then tied them into st2 wire off the ignition (i think mines black and red) and for ignition you cut the ig wire (i think mines black and white) and joined that too which wires?? thanks that is making things a bit clearer

I ran all the ignition wires from the relays to that chopped ignition wire.
If you are gonna need the heaters just join all the three together.
sweet.

and by start trigger you mean ignition switch correct on your first post?

by start trigger i mean the small wire from starter motor.
dont worry about the heater comment, i removed the blower unit thats why mine isnt working.

are you useing the sr20det fuel and relay boxes? cause mine didnt come with them soo were going to use the ae71 box too power the sr20det ecu but should be the same process. thanks again

Man that truly came out awesome, today we went too crank it and im not getting any spark or injectors, any way you could draw up wiring diagram for that setup for me? my harness didnt come with a relay or fuse panel soo thats just what i need please and thank you for the replys

its just the same as the relays on that site, what relays you see on my fuse panel are ECU Power, IACV, Electric Fan, Fuel Pump and IGN.
I seemed to have the same problem with the spark and injectors and traced it back to my dropping resistor (silver rectangular box under ecu) not getting power so hooked power to it and it was sweet, im not sure if sr's have a dropping resistor

hey what wires did you use too wire up your fuel pump relay thanks

just wired it up seperatly, not triggered by the ecu.

did you use a inline fuel pump? if so do you have to have a relay for it to work right? thanks sory about all the questions

nah dude, modified tank to take take a skyline fuel pump and baffle setup. have a look at my build thread.
and yeah you need the relay to tell the pump when to turn on, or i suppose you could just use a switch.

alright yeah its just on a switch im just not getting any injectors now, no injector pulse any ideas?

i dont think sr's have a dropping resistor because they are high impedance where as ca's and rb's are low. but doing a quick search alot of people have a similar problem to you have have to chop and change/join some wires.
When i have time i might look more into it, Might just have to do some searching.
Are they getting power? How long has the engine been sitting?
