Was only a muffler I had fitted, but was only 88 dollars for a brand new hot dog muffler welded in done in less than half hour. Will be going back for a full system on the KE van soon. Great guy, and does good work.

Cheap and good NEVER go together.

DT panels in Springvale will do pretty much the best job, and for they job they do, its priced well. However its a lot more than a shitty backyarders job.

blacktopspirit
15th January 2009, 06:08 PM
Yep DT panels, I'm yet to hear a bad thing about him

as in I've herd about him doing a shit job but for the price he charges you wouldn't complain, and I'm pretty sure he is very capable of doing a great job for the extra dosh!

JLC motors in graeham rd clayton sth for general workshop stuff, good honest and cheap mechanics, everyone i've introduced to them always goes back

This thread can be super helpful. lets try and keep it up to date and informative with quality service providers only, as finding a decent tradie these days is near impossible... I've had my car for 7 years and I'm yet to find a mechanic I'm completely happy with :S

Not taking anything away from Chris aka shift_rook (Shockworks) as he's awesome at what he does and a very credible member of the 86 community but i'd like to add these guys to suspension just as another quality option this side of town if for what ever reason Chris isn't an option/available for your suspension needs.

Centreline Suspension

I've taken my car to these guys for years, they can come off as a bit arrogant at first but they really do know their stuff. They do an amazing job and are worth every little bit of coin (Bit more expensive than your average joe suspension place but still reasonable). They deal with many track cars and actually own and race one of the fastest RX7's in aus (circuit) as well as doing many suspension set ups for various other professional race cars such v8 Supercars. You can be assured you'll get a quality job and they are quite honest and give you decent feedback and options. They do ALL suspension related work from alignments to custom coilovers.

I'd be very interested to see what they can offer for the AE86, what brand of shock do they use?

JDM-086
6th August 2012, 09:28 PM
more of a work shop rather than parts supplier, they wont be able to better the products your supplying. They do offer a good trustworthy service so i thought it was worth a mention.

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic anywhere on the north or west side.. I think I've had about enough of my mechanic.

I get the mrs car serviced at hogan automotive on northern rd Heidelberg west and think he is quite good, never taken a 4age there but he was great with the vienta so I'm taking the Subaru there now too.
